I've been reading the book "The Associate," that John Grisham wrote. This is really interesting, and a lot easier to read for me, probably bacause there's a bunch of conversations in it. Sometimes I run into unknown words or phrases so this certainly helps my English improve.^^
A question! What does it "more of" mean?
Here's the excerpt: "It seems to me that it's a long shot for Scully and Pershing to assign me to the litigation section that happens to be handling this case, and it's even more of a stretch to believe they would allow a green associate to get anywhere near it. I'm sure you've thought about this."

Well "more of" is like "greater" or "furthered". In this situation the person is pretty much saying it's even greater an exaggeration "to believe they would allow a green associate to get anywhere near it."

The person being assigned to litigation already seems unlikely (thus them saying it's a "long shot"), so them being allowed a "green associate" is taking the unlikelihood further, the chances of that actually happening are greater (to not happen, there's where "more" comes in).

I hope I'm making sense. I don't really know where to find an example in Japanese though, sorry!
