New kid..yuck !

PUBLIC_FLAG_#{@journal.pf_int} RSS feed of Riri_geragera's latest journal entries Oct 05th 2008 13:37
This Friday was my 1st day as an official new member at my new work place. I supposed to start it at October 1, but it was Idul Fitri holiday.

I hate being a "new kid". Is seems like everybody is looking at me as if i'm somekind of alien. Guess they're thinking 「who the heck is this weirdo?」

I hate when i have to introduce myself to the whole hospital. I bet behind their smile they're making their 1st judgement of what i'm going to be..everyone's sweetheart or public enemy.

Ooookay, i think i'm just being too negative.
But the number one thing that i hate is, everybody especially my seniors is taking advantages from my presence.

They replaced their names on the night shift schedule board with mine. They made me stay for 24 hours at the ER on the day before Idul Fitri and they made me did that again on October 3.

I can take the reason if they're being sick. But yesterday they put notes on the board. It sounded like "oh, i can't do the night shift on October 5" or "i don't know who's going to take over my place on October 26, but i definitely can't". Whaaaaat..so immature, yuck !!

No way they can make me spend my Sunday at the ER !
I only get 1 day every week to have a rest, no way they're going to take it away from me. While my contract said that my work schedule is Monday - Saturday 8 am - 4 pm. Over my dead body pals !!

Anyway..i'm listening to this..such a great song to listen in the morning brezze.

I lllooove this song, lllooove Kyuu chan..love his voice, love his performance.
It goes with every occasion, every situation, every condition..what a cheering song c(^o~)v

Oh oh i have to take a bath now..i feel so dirty..my hair smells..yuck (^^;)

By the way..aren't you hate being a new kid?

I totally agree. Whenever I hear this song, I feel good. By the way, it seems you're extremely busy. Please take care!

I don't hate being a new kid, but I don't like it, either. I would feel queasy about the new workplace the day before I join. I hope you will feel comfortable at your new workplace. :)

NOTE 1: The original sentence sounds like you often introduce yourself to the same hospital... but you can only introduce yourself once, so that doesn't make sense.
If this is a common problem because you do it at many hospitals, you would use the original sentence with "a whole hospital" instead of "the whole hospital".

The ... is called "ellipses", and always has 3 dots. It is common in casual writing to add more for emphasis, but 2 looks strange... you should never use it.

The word "I" is always capitalized; it should never be written "i". This includes contractions like "I'm" and "I've".

For the punctuation marks , . ! ? ; : there should never be a space between the previous word and the mark, and there should always be a space between the mark and the next word.

Mr. Wallet thank you so much!

@ I'm always confused about the usage of "on", "in", "at" especially when they go before dates or places. Maybe you can write about them in your journal.

@ 「 and 」 do not exist in English
I knew they don't..I just felt like I wanna used them cause sometimes I got bored with " XD

@ It sounded like "oh, i can't do the night shift on October 5" or "i don't know who's going to take over my place on October 26, but i definitely can't".
Couldn't I use this? Because I didn't mean they're saying it...I meant they wrote it on the board?

@ Oh yeah, I made a typo at the "breeze". Thanks ^^

Oh I didn't know it..thanks..I thought it wasn't a big deal whether there's only 2 dots or 3 dots. Now i know ^^

I knew these too...it's just I often forget when to push the capital or shift button ><
Oct 07th 2008 11:16 Mr. Wallet

If they didn't say it, then it also didn't "sound" like anything! -_^ OK, OK...

For me, "they sounded like" leads to how they seemed to you. This can be based on what was said or written, but it's not used in a quote or paraphrase:
O He sounded like he was in trouble.
O He sounded like a big baby.
X He sounded like, "I'll meet you for dinner at 5." (OK if mocking him and the quote is in a silly voice.)

On the other hand, "they said things like" leads to a paraphrasing of what was said.
O He said things like, "Let's meet for dinner!"
O He said things like, "I hope you fall in a well!"
X He said things like he had just run 10 kilometers. (Makes sense, but a little strange)

That's just my opinion. I'm not sure how international my correction is.

@ Oh I didn't know it..thanks..
... >_< ha ha ha

Terima kasih..thank you Mr. Wallet..your explanations are quite easy to understand.
Gee...you have to be a language teacher...
I'm guessing that your English score is so good..
My Indonesian score is always around 7 ^^
