"Red Bull no será ya tan superior"

Poco después de bajarse del coche como campeón del mundo por segundo año
consecutivo, Sebastian Vettel afirmó que el coche del año pasado todavía les daba
más margen de ventaja que el actual respecto a sus rivales. Y se despachó a gusto al
afirmar que si no habían ganado con mucha más diferencia de puntos fue por sus
propios errores, los de su compañero de equipo, Mark Webber, y los de la propia
escudería. Y está en lo cierto. Vettel ganó el año pasado de una forma rocambolesca
en una última carrera en la que Ferrari equivocó la estrategia y condenó a Fernando
Alonso. Pero esta temporada su superioridad ha sido tan brutal porque en el equipo
todo se ha tranquilizado: ya no hay peleas entre los dos pilotos, cada cual sabe su
papel, no hay errores estratégicos y Vettel se siente líder.

Sin embargo, tiene razón cuando afirma que el coche del año pasado era superior. Tal
vez no mejor que el de esta temporada, pero sí que menos alcanzable para las demás
escuderías. Adrian Newey, el director técnico de la escudería de las bebidas
energéticas, volvió a hacer un gran trabajo para sublimar todos los aspectos
aerodinámicos que le habían dado alas a Mark Webber en la mayoría de carreras de
2010 y el título, al final, a Vettel. Fue basándose en aquel coche que realizó el de 2011
y lo llevó a la práctica perfección.
