Is there someone to help me ?

I have a speech to prepare for my English lesson. I choosed to speak about legal system in England.

To present my work in front the other students I would like to explain how run a trial for a criminal case. I think I can make a comparison with a trial in Belgium.

I will be pleased to receive some informations. I have already work about the different courts. What I would like to know it's what happens when someone has done an offence and has to go on trial. Who is responsible to investigate, how long does it takes, etc...

If you know a movie which show a trial, it will be interesting for me to see it.

Thanks a lot for any help.

I think you must be a 'legal eagle'!

I wouldn't base my knowledge of the legal system on a movie ;)

Anyhow you can try the suggestions here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/tag/television/forum?cdThread=TxNE9Q6GO4BU77

  • To present my work in front the other students I would like to explain how run a trial for a criminal case. (this is a little strange. Is the speech only part of the assignment? Or is it the whole assignment? When you present your work, the presentation itself is not the most important bit, but the content. But I got the impression this is a speech for English class. In which case your language, delivery etc is the focus, rather than the content)

Yes indeed my language is the focus rather than the content but I would like to find something which interests the students. I don't like to listen to a boring summary and I don't want to be boring!

I don't think the legal system interests most people ;)

Why not? Do you think there is anyone which is good? We can dream a world where a legal system would be unnecessary!

Hmm law is technical and boring to most. We may want good results, but it doesn't mean the process is interesting

What I'm interested in is to put on light how because of the difference of conducting a trial, the sentencing will be different. But I think this is too hard to explain without knowing a lot of information about it.
