A great coffee shop.

There is a large bookstore near my room.
There is a coffee shop next to the bookstore and I like it so much.
Because you can bring books from the bookstore into the coffee shop and read them as much as you want without buying.
I spent 500 yen for a coffee and read a book that costs 1700 yen.
If I had more time, I could read more books.

The coffee shop was full of people reading books.
I suppose the coffee shop can make a profit. But I am wondering many people might stop buying books.
So it is not beneficial to the bookstore.
If the customer is interested in a book and can't finish reading it, he might buy it.

But I am a fast-reader and I can finish reading in a short period of time.
So I won't buy a book at the bookstore.

How can they make a profit by the strategy?
