Q. Some people believe that automobiles have been a beneficial invention, whereas others believe any benefits are outweighed by the negative impact they have had on the environment. Which position do you support and why? Give concrete examples to support your answer.
While some people states that automobiles have been a beneficial invention, I'd defenitly point out that effect of automobiles is bad rather than good. There are two reasons for this: the harmful gas and global warming.
First of all, cars emmit the harmful gas such as CO2 and CO. Recently CO2 cause acid rains in particular in Europe, and as a result forests ihave been injured. Moreover gasolines which are fuels of automobiles is made from the fossile fuel such as coal and oil and the process of making it may also needs the fire which casue CO2.
Secondly, there have being the global warming all over the world mainly because of driving a car. I think that this is the very serious problem not only the earth but also our lives. For example, the higher the global temperture is, the higher the sea level will be and as a result, some ilands will sink, of course people who live in these ilands leave their country. Moreover the global warming will do harm the agriculture. According to the recent research, the price of vegetable has been increasing for several years and this is because the
temperture has been increasing. If the global warming will last, our lives will be destoroyed some day and these effect is mainly caused of driving automobiles.
