Just now, a friend called and said "Have you read a news today? Mrs.Ishida had a car accident on Monday, so Mr.Ishida went back to home without a word when we had a party that day."
今、友達が電話してきて言った。「新聞読んだ？石田さんの奥さんが月曜日、自動車事故を起こしたのよ。だから石田さんは、あの日、パーティーの途中で何も言わずに帰ったんだわ。」
That's terrible! Judging from the article, Mrs. Ishida was on her way to the Japanese restraunt where the party was being held. She hit an old man and he was seriously injured with a skull fracture. Fortunately, he will survive.
なんてことだ！記事によると、石田さんの奥さんは、パーティーの会場へ迎えに来る途中で事故を起こしたらしい。彼女がひいてしまったおじいさんは、頭蓋骨骨折の重傷のようだが、幸いなことに重体ではないようだ。
Mr. Ishida is a member of two English classes which I attend. I also met Mrs. Ishida twice. When I meet him, what I should say to him? If I were him I wouldn't want anyone to say anything about accident. What do you think?
