Do you know "SENTO-KUN"?

"SENTO-KUN" is an official mascot charactor of NARA prefecture's 1300th anniversary the transfer of the capital.
There are arguments both for and against the SENTO-KUN in JAPAN.
Because he has a little strange figure.

Please take a glance at the picture.
Seemingly it looks like very oriented figure.
But it feel little strange for JAPANESE.

Why I wrote this diary, because I saw SENTO-KUN in TV program a little while ago.
Whhhh...I feel queer it all the same.

I understand the deer antlers, since there are so many deer in Nara. And I guess he has a Buddha face because of the famous temple there? Sento-kun is a strange looking guy.

I agree with charlesseymour's corrections ^0^

I remember hearing about all this drama back when he was first designed. He seems rather...intricate and odd for a character, which are usually cute and simple. I understand that they wanted to represent both buddhism and the deer, but other places have two complimenting characters...why couldn't they just have buddha and a deer? @0@

but now Japanese comedy band "TKO" imitates Sento-kun (picture1),

after that Sento-kun became rising in popularity.
それからはせんとくんの人気が出始めています。
