Which country slaughtered more? Japan? or German?

It may be pointless to try to establish which World War Two Axis aggressor, Germany or Japan, was the more brutal to the peoples it victimised. The Germans killed six million Jews and 20 million Russians [i.e. Soviet citizens]; the Japanese slaughtered as many as 30 million Filipinos, Malays, Vietnamese, Cambodians, Indonesians and Burmese, at least 23 million of them ethnic Chinese. Both nations looted the countries they conquered on a monumental scale, though Japan plundered more....

It is surprising how western people are unaware of Japanese atrocities while they always compare Hitler to devil. Moreover, it is Japanese that worship the war criminals in a temple specifically built for them. As if that wasn't enough, they changed their history text book deleting, removing many of their faults during the world war 2. Instead of admitting it, they're justifying it saying that all we did was legitimate according to the international law.
Is it legitimate that abducting young ladies from countries like Korea, china and sexually abuse them in the war place? Many of them were killed just because they developed sexually transmitted disease which is from their own soldiers.
Difference between Germans and Japanese is that it seems like Japanese are not ashamed of what they did in the past while Germans are not only ashamed of what they did but also did not forget to apology to victimized country such as Poland.

Many of them were killed just because they developed a sexually transmitted disease, which came from their own soldiers (in the first place). ('their' - can you specify who? The armies' own soldiers?)
