Girl: I was shocked that most of young guys these days want to go dutch

Guy1: O_O ??

Girl: Why would woman pay for their own dinner when they have a guy to pay for them. In my opinion, if a man want to go dutch, that means he's dating with many girls at the same time and that's the only possible explanation.

Guy2:What? Are you serious?

Guy1:Well, maybe that's true but... still;;

Girl: Think about it, if you really like the girl, you wouldn't let her pay for her own dinner.

Guy1: Things have been changed lately...

Girl: No way! um... it might be possible after couple of times but absolutely not acceptable during the first date.

Guy1: Do you mean never?

Girl: Yeah! why? do you go dutch on the first date?

Guy1: No but..

Girl: Do you go dutch on the first date?

Guy2: No, I don't usually do that.

Girl: Really? why do you guys attack me like that? Am I wrong or something?

Guy1: We didn't... um.. I don't know;;;

Guy2: don't get mad; ok?

Interesting... You're English is really good!
In my own opinion, I don't like when men pay for me. So, unless it's some kind of special occasion and he wants to treat me, I always dutch =D

I don't really agree with that girl's logic either. haha

Thank you for the corrections! ^ㅇ^
I guess the girl in the conversation should learn your way of thinking.
Bad news is that many Korean women think like her.;;
감사합니다. ^^

Well I think it is a personal thing.

Going dutch means that each person pays for their own things. I don't usually go dutch. I either pay for everything or he pays for everything. I do that with friends too, not just with the person I date.

I don't really like it when men think that they need to pay for everything. I am a career woman and I can pay for my own things too. However, I don't like dating stingy people either. haha ^^

There are some exceptions. If there are a lot of people, then I don't pay for everyone...or if the people I am with are not close friends, I go dutch....but usually I don't go dutch.

So you mean it's either you or him right? I think that's fair. That's good. What she's saying is different which I find not logical.;
Anyway, thank you for the corrections!

Yes, I try to be fair. haha ^^

You're welcome. If I can help you with anything just let me know. ^^

하하 아니에요. 저는 한국어를 못해요! 저는 캐나다에 살고 있어서 영어와 프랑스어를 할 줄 알아요.

...그럼 좋은 하루 보내요!

Personally, I think most guys are happy to pay on the first date - especially if they asked you for an 'official date'. It's kind of like, 'Well, I enjoyed your company and I'm happy to treat you' kind of thing. While it's nice and all, I don't feel 100% comfortable with it either and would pay for something else e.g movie or another meal.

I do have friends who expect (and take for granted) that guys should pay for everything (even when they're not dating and are just friends!).

Example scenario, a girl asks a guy out to meet for lunch (they're just friends) - she just shows up and doesn't even bother to bring her wallet as she expects the guy to pay.

In the end, it becomes sort of a misplaced sense of self-entitlement and just plain taking people for granted.

That's the kind of girl I should be careful with.
I bet you're not like that. You seem like a nice person. ^ㅇ^
Thank you for your opinion.
