I am collection Quarter coins. A state's symbol is printed on each Quarter.
The goal is the collecting all 50 state's symbols. I have 41 states as of now and am looking for the rest of 9 states. I always check the changes when I go shopping. Today I failed into temptation and bought a bottle of Coke at a vending machine without checking the coins. I hope I did not use a coin that I do not have.

Good job! Aside from some grammatical errors, your English is nice.

If you have a 1円玉 from Taiwan, isn't that like イイ縁? Anyway, that's what my Taiwanese friend said! ^.^

P.s. I have a coin collection too. Have you ever seen the coins from the Bahamas? One of them has ruffles on the edge and pictures of sea creatures on the back!! It's really pretty!

I also collect state quarters. All the ones I have are from the Denver Mint. Do you knowwhere yours are from?

Good luck with your coin collection!

Hi Aoiahiru

If you use 5円 for an offing at the shrine, your wish may come true.
The pronunciation of 5円 and ご縁 is the same so people often use it for an offering.

Bahamas coin sounds pretty. I will check it. :-)

Hi, Dorielf

I do not know where these coins were made.
How do you know which Mint created a coin?
Feb 21st 2010 09:17 Dorielf

You can tell which mint produced a coin by the coin's "mint mark." I believe the mint mark should be to one side of the president's head. My collection is in storage, so I can'tdouble-check.

Coins produced in Denver have a little letter "D" on them. I think the other coins have "P".

Thank you for your suggestion. However, I am fun to check a coin when shopping. It is a kind of a lot drawing for me. :-)
