Hajime : NJ road (0)

I'm in NJ this week for business. The road of NJ is complicated. There are U-turn or left turn designated roads. If you want to make a left turn, you need make a right turn first and turn around the designated roads. It is difficult to explain.
Gas station is also special. There are no self service gas station in NJ (I think). You have to wait for staff for filling gas. I prefer the self service gas station.
It is really big.
I believed it was wild animal until today. It is not true... Indeed, it is mixed animal of Spanish retinto and English cattle. I was socked.
I went to a Irish bar near my apartment. I ordered Guinness and `fish and chips`. I love both of them.
I was eating them while watching Olympic game on screen. I ordered another beer, 'half and half'. When I order it, the waitress asked me 'Harp'? I reworded 'No, half Guinees and half Harp'.
Last time I came here, a waitress asked me same thing when I ordered it. Probably it was due to my pronunciation. Huuum.

Today's dinner was a King Crab Pot. Napa cabbages, Tofu, Mushrooms, Kudzu-Kiri (I do not know English name.) and King crabs were put and boiled together in the pot.
I took vegetables with big scoop and then dipped in ponzu sauce and ate them. They were so nice. Next one was a main dish, King crab. I picked up one from the pot and held it with my hand. It was too hot so I put it aside. While it was cooling down, I had another vegetables from the pot.
Finally the right time came. I hold a scissors with my right hand and a crab leg with my left hand. I cut the hard shell with scissors then picked crab meat. It was super wonderful taste. I conquered all King Crabs.
When I go traveling, I still need to convert F to C so that I can bring proper clothes.
Why does the US use the Fahrenheit while most countries use Celsius? That is my question. I have a same question on mile and km.
The presenter show many pictures that she took at the bottom of the sea. If you look at very carefully at the bottom of the sea, you would notice that there are lots of very small and beautiful creature. It is fun to find them in the sea.
Mushishi is one of the famous manga series in Japan. I believe. It was made into a film two years ago. I like this series and have its 1st through 9th volume.

Mushi (蟲) literally looks bugs but it is not. It is a kind of supernatural element. Ordinary people can not see and sense them but it affects their life.

Mushishi is a person who has a knowledge about Mushi and can see them. They aid people from Mushi infection.

Recently I bought its 10th volume via Amazon and it arrived today. I am dying to read it NOW. So I am finishing today's daily.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mushishi
Because my bathtub drain is clogged occasionally and it is very difficult to clean it.
I used it this evening. I glided it deep into the drain and then pulled it out. It came out with a ball of hairs!! It was really neat. Now the bathtub flow is very smooth.

You ought to try it.

See you..

FYI
http://www.buytheturbosnake.com/Default.asp?tcode=pi6&tag=TD1&bhcp=1

Hajime : In the car (2)

I go to my office by car everyday. I listen to the radio while driving.

My favorite radio station is the "Ricky Smiley - Morning Show". It broadcasts Hip-Hop music so it is good for enhancing my mood.

Sometime I'm not in the mood of listening to up-tempo music. In that case, I tune in to a classical music station that makes me relaxed.

What do you do while commuting to work?

http://www.rickeysmileymorningshow.com/pet.php

Hajime : Bean-Throwing Festival (2)

Today, February 3rd, is the Setsubun (Bean-Throwing Festival) in Japan.
I was asked by my English teacher about it but I could not answer it well. I knew this custom and followed it in my childhood. But I do not know why we, Japanese, celebrate this day.
Shame on me...

I searched it using Google.

What does the Setsubun mean?
The Setsubun (節分) literally means "section division". One season ends by today and new season starts from tomorrow. The season is divided 24 season based on "Lunisolar calendar".

Why do we throw beans on this day?
Because the pronunciation of "bean" sounds like "devil extension"（摩滅）. So we throw beans and chant "Demons out!" to oust demons from our house.

Now, I became to be able to explain it to someone next year.
Hope I keep remember it at that time.

See you..

FYI
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Setsubun
Hold a loop of the lariat.
Swing it, throw it and hook it.
Hold a calf up, flip it to side and tie it up.
An event in seven seconds.

Exciting time for people but tragedy for calves.
