Do you trust God?

I met an interesting man recently. He is very kind and I trust him very much.I shared with him my sad stories in the past and he confort me a lot.
He told me, I should trust the God and open my heart because god love me, and will help me.
Well, I want to know how many people here trust god?
because I only know a little about god, and what I have learned in the school is that we should trust science.
But I also need a faith to help me survive in this cold world,maybe it can work.

I shared with him my sad stories in the past and he (comforted)me a lot.
He told me, I should trust God and open my heart because God loves me, and will help me.
Buddhism don't negate the existence of gods. But it tells that there is no Supreme Being who controls the universe. Thus, the opinion of Buddhism about God has complexity. Gods may asist your survival, but the one who helps you should be absolutely your ownself. In the end, it may be the same opinion with the other (major) religeons which believe the God. Buddhism objects against the materialism (which trusts only the material world) but against natural science. To object against the materialism is just the same as the other religeons.
