It's April 1st today. In Japan, today it's the day we may tell a lie. We call it "April fool".
Japanese people know it's "April fool" today,so they often suspect their colleagues. When someone says something,we are very confused if it's a lie or not only today.

I said I can make a girlfriend today!
How do you think whether it's true or not?
