Note: You would use "the" before "person" and "dogs" only if you had already mentioned this particular person or the particular dogs he or she was catching. Since both are being mentioned for the first time, use "a" for just one, or "some" for more than one. "Some" is optional, and it is better without it here, since it makes "catching dogs" sound more like "catching fish."]
