人それぞれの感じ方。

When I wandered around Lang-8,I found many people correct mistakes according to their own thought.

僕がLang-8をぶらついていると、たくさんの人が一つの間違いを彼ら自身の考えに従って修正していることに気付いた。

This is very interesting.

これは大変興味深いことです。

There are many interpretations of one mistake.

一つの間違いに対して沢山の解釈が存在するのです。

Even people who speak and write Japanese correct it in different ways.

同じ日本語を話したり書いたりする人(=つまり僕と同じ日本人)ですら、修正の仕方が違っているのです。

I think this difference is related to birth place, language, culture, and so on.

僕はこの違いは生まれた場所や言語、風土に関係していると思います。

We are different each other,so human beings are tempting.

私達はお互いに違っている。だから人間は魅力的なのでしょうね。

What do you think about it?

  • 人それぞれの感じ方。
  • 人それぞれの感じ方。Interpretations Vary with Individuals(これもひとつの感じ方ですね..)

  • When I wandered around Lang-8,I found many people correct mistakes according to their own thought.
  • When I browsed ("wander"は通常空間をさまよえる時に使うのかな、インターネット等の仮想空間をぶらつく場合には、どちらかと言うととbrowseという、インタネットのばあには、surfですね。) around Lang-8, I found many people correct mistakes according to their own thought (thought, または、interpretation.).

  • We are different each other,so human beings are tempting.
  • We are different from each other-- this is one of the reasons that makes humanity so wonderful.

I agree with you that there is a dual-process of translation going on here.

The person who corrects the language of the requestor is interpreting the what the requestor wants to say. This corrective translation is performed based on their own experience and linguistic style.

A correction performed by one individual, may be different from those performed by another. They may differ in terms of emphasis, tone, and modality.

But learning translation through such dialogue of various interpretations and alternatives enriches the process of learning new languages. This method of learning really impresses me, because it opened my eyes to to the relativity within (as in differences in how the same idea can be expressed differently in one language) and between languages (for instance, how an idea in English is expressed in English). Thank you for sharing you observation-- it is something that is obvious, but little discussed.

Thank you for correcting!
日記を拝見させてもらいましたが、とても素晴らしい日本語に感心してしまいました。日本の学生にもあれほどの文章力を持つ人はなかなかいないと思います。もしよろしければ、これからも英語をご指導いただければと思います。

I think it also depends on interpretation if somebody writes something that doesn't make a whole lot of sense :)
Thank you for also writing your sentences in Japanese, it helped me, especially with some kanji.
