All of you reading my writing now surely know the phrase "play hard to get".

This in one of many used expression when people talk about relationship between men and women.
And I usually hear that expression while I watching English drama like SEX AND THE CITY, GOSSIP GIRL or something similar.
OK. Let me get down to brass tacks. "play hard to get" could be interpreted by "튕기다".

'튕기다' means 'flick' or 'bound, bounce off" in English.
For example
"나는 (손가락으로) 파리를 튕겼다" --> I flick the fly on my wrist with my hand.
"베컴의 멋진 슈팅이 골대를 맞고 튕겨나왔다(this is passive form)--> Beckem's great shooting bounced off the goal post.

You know what i mean? I might be biased but most of the women or men who are very high-nosed, beautiful or handsome usually play hard to get.
My current girlfriend also did, but she didn't now ^^
These are some korean sentences that are related '튕기다'. Hope it helps.

1. 그 여자 너무 튕기는 거 아냐? 데이트 한번 하자는데 왜 그렇게 깐깐하게 구는지....
(Don't you think she plays hard to get so bad? She behaves so arrogantly, you know, I just asked her out one time!!)

2. 너무 튕기는 여자는 사귀기 어렵다(힘들다)
Woman who plays hard get is difficult to be taken or It is hard to go out with a girl who plays hard to get.

3. 여자는 튕길수록 매력적이야~ 안 그래?
Playing hard to get more and more makes the women more attractive. Isn't it?
or Women who play hard to get more and more makes them more attractive. Isn't it? (NO OFFENCE, JUST AN EXAMPLE!!)

Hope this thread helps you! And I'll be very happy if you correct my writing.
