Back in August, I moved to Japan to teach English as an ALT. I am now living in Akita prefecture and teaching at a few elementary and middle schools. I love learning Japanese and plan on continuing down this road until I reach fluency.
Up until now I have had a lot of listening and reading experience, but close to no writing or speaking experience. Any advice or corrections on my journal entries will definitely be appreciated and I hope I can help you with your English as well.
はじめまして。ジェフです。アメリカで育ったけれど、８月１５日から日本に住んでいます。大学卒業後、ニューヨーク市に２年間住んでいました。NYCは凄かったけれど、日本語を勉強したり、海外に住んだり、新しい経験をしたりしたいでした。今では、日本に引っ越したのはいい決定だったと思います。周囲の教師達は凄く優しいし、英語を教えるのは楽しいです。それに、どこでも新しい経験がたくさんできます。
NYCではエンジニアでした。しかし、日本では僕は英語の教師です。それに、大学生時代は専門がエンジニアだったけれど、今、好きなのは日本語の勉強です。二年前ぐらいに日本語を勉強し始めたけれど、まだとても楽しいですよ。LANG8では訂正とアドバイスをいただきありがとうございます！
