I decided to start learning for STEP 1st.
I've passed pre-1st grade 10 years ago.

The world of the 1st grade is full of words I've never seen before!!
But I heard that vocabulary STEP 1st requires cover 95% or more that appears in newspapers and books.
When I heard this, I decided to start learning.

I easily lose my reading motivation when I come across words I don't know.
They often say, "You should skip such words, keep reading and try to get the gist of it".
But I can't do this!
It's really frustrating!
Even though I can't remember the meaning of the word while reading, if only I could remember I've come across the word before, it helps much to continue reading.
it is more a matter of feeling.

Its okay to forget the meaning! I do it all the time :) I get really upset when I cant figure it out. So to remember the words I make little flash cards out of some blank paper and it helps alot. So when i hear the word again i understand it and my motivation goes way up! ^-^ Also what i heard to do is try to find like a... radio station, you just put it to the language you want to learn. I think it helps with pronouncing and you can pick out little words they say. I do that for Japanese! がんばって ください~! :)

Thanks for your comment! Now I'm making flash cards and look through them again and again. I feel a little happy when I find a word I've just added to them.

That sure is a lot of vocab to remember. Maybe I would fail :(

Thanks for your comment. I glanced your website and found it's really interesting! I'll come back again.
Yes, some of STEP 1st grade vocab is so difficult and formal that I think I would never use them in speaking and writing in my life.
Convention use of easy words often has unexpected meanings, and it's just like a new word. That's anther problem for me...
