The curse

Someone said, 'A lie is the curse of God'.
Do you believe a curse? I believe it.

Actually, I've been worrying about my unlucky fate.
I've bought a brand-new car around one years ago. It's my treasure now. I often wash it like a car-washing machine.
But The curse always happen on the next day.

(which one is correct? both wrong? I don't know how to use the 'rain[verb]' word.)

That makes me feel edgy. I might be under a curse... I really think I should call an exorcist or the 'Ghostbusters'.
By the way, 'Ghostbusters' is one of my favorite movie. The stay puft marshmallow man is pretty awesome!

There is a word called 'Tatari（祟り）' in Japan. 'Tatari' means a curse. The famous one of the things I know is the tatari of 'Kokkuri-san（狐狗狸さん）'. It's some kind of divination. It's similar to 'Table-turning' in the West.

Because it has originated as 'Table-turning'.
They say 'Table-turning' was introduced to Japan in the 1884.
the '狐狗狸' word means a fox, a dog, and a raccoon dog(Tanuki). It's often said that a fox and a raccoon dog trick a human in Japan.
A fox is an especially feared animal. In fact, there are lots of shrines which enshrine a fox in Japan.

To do 'Kokkuri-san' is very dangerous. Usually, It is solemnized by several people. They say people must not do it alone.

There're lots of eerie scary 'true' stories about it around me.

The incident happened when I was little.
At that time, there was a student who has interested about 'Kokkuri-san'.
She was my classmate, and always wanted to know anything. I'd been feeling her a little bit creepy since I met her first time. She especially liked a scary story. She often talked about it with her friends. And I had already known that she had often solemnized ’Kokkuri-san'.

I guessed such a girl might fall into a troublesome situation someday. And my guess proved right.

One day, all of a sudden, She refused to go to school. Somehow my teacher didn't talk the cause. I wondered such a situation, and wanted to know the truth.
Although I had something strange, I decided to go to her house.
She lived in the neighborhood. I went to her house with scary feelings. I arrived there, then I heard scary scream. I've never heard such a scary scream. It was similar to something like an animal call. I wanted to escape there, but I summoned up courage to see into the house.

But I shouldn't have seen it.

I hardly recognized her. She looked like an animal. Especially a fox...
She was walking on all fours, and howling in the darkness.
I was to be really scary, and I escaped there.
I still can't forget that.

Finally, I say again. That is a true story...

誰かが言いました。　「嘘は神の呪いである」と。
あなたは呪いというものを信じますか？私は信じています。

現に、私は自分の忌まわしい運命に関して悩んでいます。
私は一年程前に新車を買ったんです。今では私の宝物になっています。私はよく、愛車を洗車機になったかのように洗います。
しかし、その呪いとは、いつも翌日に起こるのです。

『私が車を洗うといつも、翌日に雨が降ります』

それは私をイライラさせます。私は呪われているのかもしれない・・・。私は本気で、霊媒師か「ゴーストバスターズ」に電話するべきなのかもしれないと考えています。
ところで、「ゴーストバスターズ」は私のお気に入りの映画の一つです。マシュマロマンは最高ですね！

日本には、「祟り」という言葉があります。「祟り」は「a curse」を意味します。私の知ってる有名なものの一つとして、「こっくりさん」の呪いというものがあります。「こっくりさん」とは、ある種の占いのようなものです。それは西洋の「テーブル・ターニング」に似ています。

なぜなら、「こっくりさん」の起源は「テーブル・ターニング」にあるからです。
「テーブル・ターニング」は１８８４年に日本に紹介されたと言われています。
この「Kokkuri」という言葉は、狐、狗、そして狸を表します。日本では、狐と狸が人を化かす（騙す）と言われています。
狐は特に恐れられている動物です。事実、日本各地には狐を祭った多くの神社があります。

「こっくりさん」をする事は非常に危険な事です。通常、それは数人で行なわれます。そして、それは一人で行なってはならないとされています。

私の身の回りには、多くの奇妙で恐ろしい「実話」があるんです。

その出来事は私が幼い頃に起こりました。
当時、私の学校に、「こっくりさん」に興味を持つ学生がいました。
彼女は私のクラスメイトであり、好奇心旺盛な少女でした。しかし私は、彼女と始めて会って以来、ちょっとだけ気味の悪さのようなものを感じていました。彼女は特に怖い話が好きでした。彼女はよく友達と、怖い話をしていました。そして私は、彼女がよく「こっくりさん」をしているという事を知っていたのです。

私は、そんな子はいつかとんでもない状況に陥ってしまうのではないかと考えていました。そしてその予感は的中する事となりました。
ある日、全く突然に、彼女は学校へ来なくなりました。どういう訳か、先生はその原因を話しませんでした。私はそんな状況を不審に思い、そして真実を知りたいと思いました。
何か妙な思いを抱きながらも、私は彼女の家へいく事を決意したのです。

彼女は近所に住んでいました。私は恐怖を抱きつつ、彼女の家へと向かいました。私がそこへ到着したその時、恐ろしい悲鳴を聞きました。私はあのような恐ろしい悲鳴を聞いた事がありません。それは動物の鳴き声のような感じがしました。私は逃げ出したかったけど、その家の中を調べるために勇気を振り絞りました。

しかし、私はそれをみるべきではなかったのかも知れません。

彼女の姿は変わり果てていました。彼女は動物に似ていました。それも、特に狐に・・・。
彼女は四つんばいになって歩き、暗闇の中で遠吠をしていました。
私はとても怖くなってしまい、そこから逃げ出しました。

私はそれを忘れる事が出来ません。

最後に、もう一度言います。これは実話です・・・。
