Almost a year after the earthquake, at last, some companies are offering to use the rubbles that are intact of radioactive substances, and so do some local goverments as waste material. However, there is a limit to the ability to deal with the rubbles in total. Accordingly, it is planned to build a waterbreak and woods by covering soil on the pile of rubbles generated by the earthquake.

The Environment Minister met with the governor of Miyagi Prefecture on 18 February, and reached an agreement to recycle the rubbles generated in the Prefecture by the massive earthquake and following tsunami to build a waterbreak and woods which is aimed at saving the life of the local people from tsunami.

　震災のがれき処理に関し、政府が被災地での具体的な再利用策をまとめたのは初めて。
This is the first time that the national government showed a clear recycle plan of the rubbles in the devastated areas.

　政府の計画では、仙台市から南側の仙台平野沿岸部の約５０～６０キロに防災林を整備する。その際、防災林を植えるための数メートルの高台をがれきを埋め立てて建設する。利用するがれきは、東京電力福島第一原子力発電所事故による放射性物質の汚染の問題がないかどうか、環境省が安全性を確認する。事業は国直轄で行い、６月までに着手する。

Behind the delay is the radioactive cesium emitted from the Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear power plant. So far, in the broad area of Kanto region, where the radioactive substances fell, strong radiation has been detected from the sludge of drink water plants and disposal plants, and the ash from incinerators. Some local authorities all around Japan, offered the disposal of the rubbles on condition that they are not contaminated with radioactive substances. However, many of them withdrew them because of the threatening mails and calls protesting to accept the rubbles.

According to the Ministry of Environment, the following amounts of rubbles have been generated in each Prefecture. 4.76 million tons in Iwate Prefecture, 15.69 million tons in Miyagi Prefecture, 2.08 million tons in Fukushima Prefecture. The total amount is 225.3 million tons.

First, the knowledge attained from experience is difficult to forget. It is more reliable. The knowledge that I go through many troubles and finally attained from books is easy to forget. As for mathematics, I never forget how to handle equations. I think this is because I learned it intrinsically, and the function of the equation roots deep into my mind. On the other hand, the ratio on the graph is easy to forget. I often have trouble with the problems that concerns the ratio on a graph. I think this is because I don't intrinsically understand how it works. I believe it depends on my experience whether I can intrinsically understand it or not. In other words, if I have had a close look at it or deemed about it, I don't have much trouble.

Second, the knowledge I have not experienced directly does not come into my mind from books. I love the language, and I am confident in learning languages. I understand Korean, Chinese a little. I often open a book about the transition of the pronunciations and grammar of their languages. I can understand what is written in the books about the language I understand, but I have trouble with reading the books about the language I don't understand at all. In the same way, I don't like books about the ancient times because it is too far back that I'm not capable of extending my experience to such an old times.

In conclusion, I believe human beings cannot learn anything without the experiences of their own. When they learn something from the book, they do it by extending their experiences. Without their own experiences, book would be mere patterns of letters or a music score. Experience is by far the more important than that from books.

There were two forms of it with different size. I had no idea how these two were different so I took both of them. On that day, I intended to renew my pass at the place that I was instructed to go the day before but the shutter in front of the place was already closed at 19:00.
Though I finally got new subway pass this morning, I had a minor problem. I handed the official at the ticket beaurau a different form. I needed a form for Fukuoka city subway system but I did one for JR(Japan Railway). Fortunately I had one for subway line as well. I got one.

定期券の有効期限が三日前だったので、その日、母に言って定期券代をもらいました。僕はその日の帰りに定期券を買うつもりでした。いつも定期券を買うように地下鉄の券売機で定期券を買おうとしました。普段は、必要なボタンを押し終わると、係員の方が券売機の横の穴から顔を出して、「学生証はありますか」と尋ね、それを見せれば、購入することが出来ます。しかし、その日は新年度最初の定期券の購入だったため、学校の通学証明書が無いと購入できないということになっていました。そのため、その日はあきらめ、翌日、学校で証明書をもらって定期券を購入しようと思いました。
翌日、学生課で書類をもらいに行きました。そこには二つの書類が置いてあり、その二つの違いが分かりませんでしたが、とりあえず、両方とももらっておきました。その帰り、普通通り、帰りに購入しようと思いました。前日に、新規の購入は定期券販売上で行って下さいと言われていたのでそこに行ってみましたが、そこは19:00にしまってしまっていて、僕の行った19:40にはもう開いていませんでした。

It is the co-operation among society. The contrast between the ways the two were treated clearly shows society treats well a very ordinary old lady like Emma Carter but, on the other hand, society treats such a lazy and bad young guy like Jason Williams very strictly.
Many people helped Emma. When she fell down on the streets, the people who lived in the nearest house called an ambulance, the members of ambulance took her to a hospital and doctors and nurses at the hospital also took care of her.
On the other hand, no one was willing to support Jason Williams. He asked his mother to make a false testimony at the court but she refused. Her wife came to take half the winning prize by claiming her right as his wife to it. His attorney, Sally Cash, was looking down on him and told him that no one in the court would like him. She did not want to defend him at all. One day, she said to her husband that half the winning prize was going to his wife, some to benevolent institution and his parents, and a lot to his attorney. It was highly likely that only very little money was going to remain with Jason. They were thinking of what they would do after the trial.
What is the difference between Jason Williams and Emma Carter? The biggest difference I found is whether he or she violated the social rule or not. If you learn Jason infringed the law by snatching and he offended against morality by violating on his wife and children, you would found him so ugly and look down on him. His trouble was caused by his trespassing rules. Emma Carter did not work but she did not offend the law or do against morality. She just lived on her little money. She never did anything wrong. Therefore, she is treated well.
Then, have you ever thought why we need money to make money? I have never seriously thought about this before but, after reading this book, this question popped up to me. Off course, I guess, you have more than one answers of your own to these questions. However, there is one thing I can say for sure. The value of money for people lies in the power to connect people and have them work for each other within society. In this context, which do you think is happier, Jason or Emma?
Life is not money. Life is cooperation among society. Therefore, you should think of cooperating with society and shouldn’t think of making a lot of money. This is the impression I got from this book.

Ramen is a Japanese noodle dish consisting of regular wheat noodles, which is usually sharp and kinky, in a soup usually flavored with miso or soy sauce, and served with various ingredients, typically kamabokos, an egg, sliced meats and thinly-cut spring onions. Ramen is different from other types of Japanese noodles; udon and soba, in that it is made of regular wheat whereas udon is made of strong flour and soba buckwheat flour. Also, ramen has its origin in China. It is unclear when it was brought into Japan, though surely it was already there in Japan before the beginning of 20th century.

Among other types of ramen from many other regions in Japan, what is special about Hakata ramen is its soup and noodle. The soup of Hakata ramen is tonkotsu soup(poke bone soup), which is made by simmering poke bones for hours and getting collagen dissolve into the soup. It is converted into gelatin and makes the soup taste mild. As for noodle, Hakata ramen's straight noodle and kaedama system, which offer additional balls of noodles for less price, is peculiar .

I have three plans.
1. TOEIC
2. TOEFL
3. Practice of translating Japanese into English


Based on the resultant score of Eiken Pre-1st test, I have a poor listening ability and writing ability. I made a plan to overcome each obstacle.
To improve my listening ability, I am going to practice TOEIC and TOEFL test respectively for one hour a day. In this training, the focus is to adjust my ears to the speed at which native speakers talk.
To improve my writing ability, I'm going to translate Japanese articles from essays, novels and legislations. The aim is to acquire comprehensive ability of writing through the training of translating Japanese into English. I expect to acquire more practical translating ability beyond writing one.

Anyway, I gotta study for year-end exams. We have exams ahead of spring vacation.

Though I wrote them, I don’t have a good command of English. I would feel embarrassed but I dared to point out things you would hate to hear. In the process of convincing, making listeners feel embarrassed or uneasy is inevitable.
I’d like to brief what should be done to convince a person into doing something. First, you have to say something the listener would hate to hear and then tell him or her what he or she should do to prevent it.
This method is useful both in a good manner and in a bad manner.
Those who interacts with people as professional is often required of this ability. For example, a doctor sees a man who has recently picked up the habit of excessive smoking; first, the doctor can point out his future death from lung cancer to bring up the man’s anxiety; and then he can say, “Stop smoking.” In this manner of convincing, you can convince someone more effectively for a good purpose.
On the other hand, this method can be used also in a bad manner. For example, the ore-ore swindler(おれおれ詐欺) introduces themselves as the son of telephone recipient and tells he is in a grave trouble. He stirs up anxiety in this way. Then he tells he needs money to get out of his trouble.
You can use this method to effectively convince someone but there lies a danger of this method being used to swindle out of your money or get you join a cult. It is worth keeping it in mind.
However, when you actually use this method, you need care. Saying something he or she hates to hear can be harassment. You should care how he or she feels before you speak it out.

しかし、自動車学校の方たちが何のことをいっていらっしゃるのか分からないままでは、何一つすることが出来ないから、聞くほか有りませんでした。
However I had no choice but to ask because I can’t put anything into action at all when I'm not sure what the workers there are referring to.
そのうえ、わたしはより大きな問題を起こす前に、自動車学校での手続きを確認することは重要だとも思います。
On top of that, I believe making sure as to the processes at the driving school before I cause more serious problems is important.

Near Fukuoka tower on the ground is Fukuoka city Museum with the display of Kin-in, a gold seal, which is designated as national treasure. Kin-in was unearthed in Shikanoshima island at the mouth of Hakata bay in 1784 or Tenmei 4 in Edo Period. This seal was presented by Han dynasty (220 B.C. to 8 A.D) of China to Na state of a tribe of Kyushu. In the days of Han dynasty of China, seal was the symbol of diplomatic relation with Han dynasty.

Fukuoka bosai center or Fukuoka emergency training center is a lurking place for tourists to visit. The center offers the simulations of gust winds, earthquake, labyrinth like a building smoking in fire and the training to put off fire at initial stage with fire extinguisher, with useful instruction by staff to reduce your bodily damage.

Cherry blossoms are blooming beautifully like the picture of 100 yen coin.

I found that it is definately impossible to take the picture of object in the true color and light in AUTO mode of digital camera because of its imagery process.

Since this cherry blossom tree is located in the eastern side of the hill, I'm going to get up early and take the picture of this cherry flowers illuminated with rising sun.

　桜の花が、百円硬貨のおもて面の絵のように綺麗に咲いています。

　AUTOモードで撮影された写真は画像処理が加わるので、ありのままの姿が写されないことに気付きました。


　この桜は丘陵の東側に位置しているので、明日は早起きして、この桜が朝日に照らされる姿を撮りに行くつもりです。

「福岡管区気象台は１４日、福岡市で桜（ソメイヨシノ）が開花した、と発表した。全国では高知市に次いで２か所目。平年より１２日早く、全国で最も早かった昨年より１日遅い。満開は早ければ２１日頃の見通し。」（読売新聞）

　まだ、今日も三分咲きと言うところでしょうか。そのせいか、まだ、安心してみられます。あまりにも見事に咲き誇った桜は、雨風で花びらが散ってしまわないか気をもむばかりで、植物として桜、本来の姿に目を向けられなくなってしまいます。散りゆく桜は、咲き誇った桜の最後の姿をただ心に留め置こうとするばかりで、見ているのはきっと心象でしょう。桜のそのものには目も当てられなくなってしまいます。
　このくらいの桜もいいものですね。
