I made it! I lost what I have gained.

I gained 2.5kg during this winter break. It is common among Japanese. We call it, "The New Year's Weight Gain". People eat and drink a lot in the new year's holidays especially race cakes in the past. Race cakes is one of the New Year's food. People eat less rice cakes compare with before. However, more than one or two old people die by choking rice cakes every year.

I was shocked when I scaled my weight after the winter break. However, the scale showed almost as the same number as before the winter break yesterday. Okay, I made it! That encouraged me to lose more weight. I will do it. It is one of my new year's resolutions!

to be honest, you don't look like you way a lot in your profile picture, but I wish you look with your new year's resolution.

Thanks Dendei. I have a question. I always think if I should use "compare to" or "compare with". I was taught that "compare to" is use for two things are alike. "Compare with" is for differences. Could you tell me how to use "to" and "with"?

I'm so sorry to jump in here but it was really bugging me lol. It should be "You don't look like you WEIGH a lot," not "You don't look like you way a lot."

When I was learning English, I made this mistake a billion times and my teacher would always smack me with a ruler for it. lol.

Also, I'm sure it should be "Wish you luck," and not "look."

I wonder if this was posted from a smartphone? lol.

Usually, I exercise hard starting all year because starting in November, there are many many holidays and weight gain is inevitable. This year, I didn't gain any weight over the holidays, which is great, but I didn't lose anything either. lol.

Do you weigh yourself daily?
