I was a bit confused with which to correct. Japanse one or English one? I proofread the Japanese one, but then it might have changed the texture of the English one.

The one I gave you could be translated into this:
Joe Swift, another foregn karatist tried interviewing McCarthey about his search for realism and his inexhaustible passion for karate.

どうですか?

I'm trying to translate the Japanese one into Swedish (/English). But it really helps me to see other ways of saying the same thing in Japanese. Thank you.

  • Joe Swift, who is another foreign Karate lover, tries to interview McCarthy to know what he really is.

hmmm…「そのマッカーシー氏の実態を探るべく、空手が好きで好きで堪らない、そのもう一人の外国人空手家ジョー・スウィフト氏がインタビューを試みた。」 seems a little strange for me.
Becaus I don't know which man can't help loving Karate. Joe? McCarthy?

If we try to find a good English equivalent for a difficult Japanese expression,we often come to a dead end, right?

I have the same problem ;). I also have a hard time to understand if it's Joe or McCarthy who loves karate. However I think it's referring to McCarthy since the article is about him.

I'm trying to translate this article from Japanese to Swedish so that my students might enjoy it. But I'm finding it a bit of a challenge. I know enough Japanese to be able to read and understand it for myself but finding the correct translation is hard.

Thanks for all your help =)
