“Japan as Galapagos Islands”

I read the book called ‘Hen na kuni Nippon, Strange country Japan’ long time ago.
I couldn’t recognize how our country is strange in the world at that time.
Because I thought the frame of mind was not so different between Japanese people and the other country’s people as I had never been to abroad.
Recently, I have become aware of the singularity of Japan and Japanese people in many aspects.
In the modern era of expanding globalization, Japan will be left behind from the world some decades later.
Some people explain such Japanese situation by analogy of the Galapagos Islands.

It is interesting that you write about Japan and how it may be left behind in an expanding world. In the U.S., we think that Japan is very modern and will leave everyone else in the world behind in the dust. Such as the U.S. ^^;
