"Ninguém" significa nenhuma pessoa. Usa-se quando vamos falar sobre nenhuma pessoa, ou ninguém. Por exemplo: "Nenhuma pessoa" está ali.

Já alguém significa alguma pessoa. Usa-se quando existe alguma pessoa de quem vamos falar, mas não sabemos exatamente quem é essa pessoa. Por exemplo: Alguém me disse. O que significa: Alguma pessoa me disse. Alguma pessoa que eu não sei ou não me lembro quem é. Isso é alguém.
