Sorry in Advance!

I would just like to apologise in advance. Lan-g 8 is a great site and I love it, however I can't accept any more friend requests. If you try to add me after 27/04/10 I won't accept. It's not me being a jerk, let me explain.

When I correct an entry, I take time to think about the best corrections in the context the person who posted it had in mind. It would be a lot easier and quicker to rewrite everything how I would say it, yet that defeats the purpose of their posting it.
It also takes me a while to think of explaining the corrections I've made, as I need to explain it in a way that someone truly understands, not just say "this is the way it's done", as no one really learns from that.
Finally it takes my concentration to focus on each friend I have and their particular strengths and weaknesses, and factor that into my explanations.

It can be very time consuming, which I honestly don't mind. However there's no way I could do all that with say 100+ friends, not to the level I have been anyway.

So If you try to add me and you think I'm ignoring you or being a jerk, I'm really not. Honestly :)

I am surprised and impressed with this post. It reminded me of your last corrections and detailed explanations you gave me. You are a sincere and have a deep insight in this language exchanging network. I really appreciate your earnest kindness which helps and encourage me a lot.

But I feel sorry for it at the same time and I encourage you to have various friends for your Japanese-learning. Because tastes and strictness in languages differs person to person. You should know and experience them as much as possible. Of course I'll try to show you some suggestion if they are mutual exclusive or have any discrepancies each other.

As for your correction, you can arrange your style on occasions. Most of us may guess what you mean. Maybe we can ask you for a help if we really don't guess it.

>It would be a lot easier and quicker to rewrite everything how I would say it, yet that defeats the purpose of their posting it.

You never defeat it. Rather I would appreciate paraphrasing. Most of the correctors try to correct journal entries line by line, which loses context as you are afraid. So if you show me a different style of correction, it is VERY precious.

Take it easy. Try to find "good" way for you. Don't get much stress for it.
I hope you will find your style. Please enjoy it.

Sorry for such a long and messy post.

Hello, Mike

I'm impressed by your thought and honesty.

I could not write whole of my thought, but I want to say this post encourages me and gives strength to my mind of doing my best in learning English.

I really would like to improve my skills of English, so your correction and comments are appreciated.

At the same time, I wonder if you could have time to learning Japanese.
Please put your first thing first and corrections and explanations to us second or third place.

Take care.

Hi Cincle, thanks for your post. I'm glad you feel motivated to do your best :)

My Japanese studies are going well thanks. I've been using Japanesepod101 and smartfm. I'm learning new words or phrases every week so hopefully I'll be writing soon.

Please keep up your great work as I enjoy reading your posts!
