When I got home, it had already got dark outside.
I unloced the door and switched on the lights at the entrance. Then I felt I became pale with fear. He looked back at me with big eyes were wide open. I could also see weapons in his hands.

There was a mantis at the entrance.(*Д*;)

I hate insects, especially mantises. Mantises have eerie big eyes, and their hands are weapons. Actually I have no confidence to win a battle with him. He might put me into a hypnotic state with his eyes and he might attack me with his weapons.
I wanted to enter the room, but he stood blocking the entrance. I tried to step over him, but I realized that he can fly. So I called my cousin's son who lives near my house.
"Help me!"
I explained about my situaton. He was dumbfounded and asked me;
"Hey, how old are you? Have you ever seen a person who was killed by a mantis?"
"I might be the first one!"
He reluctantly came to my house and picked up the mantis, and took the mantis 2 blocks away.

After that I treated him to dinner as a reward. I took him to conveyor-belt sushi restaurant. He is young. He ate a lot. The cost of the mantis extermination was 6,000yen. (><)


家についた時、辺りは暗くなっていた。私はドアをあけ、玄関の明かりをつけた。そして、私は自分の顔色が青ざめるのがわかった。彼は大きく見開いた目で私を振り返った。彼の両手には凶器が見えた。

玄関にカマキリがいたんです！

昆虫は嫌いです。とくにカマキリ！カマキリは不気味な大きい目をしていて、両手は凶器になってます。　正直、カマキリと戦うことになったら勝つ自信はありません。カマキリはあの目で催眠術をかけ、両手の武器で攻撃してくるにちがいありません。
部屋に入りたかったけど、カマキリが道をふさいでいて入れません。飛び越えようかとも思ったけど、彼は飛べるってことに気が付きました。そこで、私は近所のいとこの息子に電話しました。
「助けて！」
私は状況を説明しました。彼はあきれてこう言いました。
「あのさ。いくつ？今までにカマキリに殺された人見たことある？」
「私が最初の人になるかも知れないでしょ！」
彼はしぶしぶ、うちに来て、カマキリを遠くまで持っていってくれました。

その後、お礼に彼を回転すしにつれて行きました。彼は若いのでよく食べます。
カマキリの駆除代は6,000円でした。

My aquaintance gave me tickets for jazz concert.
So I went to Blue Note Tokyo with my American friend.
I love music. I listen to rock, classical, hip-hop...but I didn't know about jazz well actually.
I even thought it must be not to my taste.
Anyway I tried to commune with the world of jazz.
When I listened to jazz music, it's more confortable for me than I expected.
Whatever kinds of music, good musc is good, I think.
Anyway I had a good time, but I felt sorry for my American friend.
Because he had to put up with my terrible English. XP

知人がジャズコンサートのチケットをくれたので、アメリカ人の友人と
ブルーノートに行ってきました。
私は音楽が好きで、ロックにクラシック、ヒップホップも聞くけど、
正直、ジャズはよくわかりませんでした。
私の趣味じゃないかもって思っていました。
まぁ、とにかくジャズの世界に浸ってみることにしました。
いざ、聞いてみると思っていたよりも心地よいものでした。
どんなジャンルの音楽にせよ、いいものはいいものなんですね。
とても楽しかったです。でもアメリカ人の友達には悪いことしました。
だって、私の英語に耐えなければいけなかったんですからね。（＞＜）

I saw things that I didn't want to see.
There was a heap of clothes I should iron in the corner of the room.
Actually I don't like ironing.
What is worse, it's been unbearably hot these days.

I tried to pretend not to see it, but i have to do it sooner or later.
I reluctantly started to iron.

Everybody should wear crumpled shirts from now on.
It put a break on global warming, I think.

見ちゃいけないものを見ちゃった。
部屋の片隅に、アイロンかけなきゃいけない洗濯物の山を。
正直、アイロンがけは嫌い。
しかも最近めちゃめちゃ暑いし。

見なかったことにしようと思ったけど、いずれやらなきゃいけないし、
しぶしぶ、アイロンがけを始めた。

これからはみんな、しわくちゃのシャツ着るようにすればいいのに。
地球温暖化防止にもなると思うんだけどな。

I bought this digital movie camera as a reward for myself for working hard.
Well...sorry...it's a just excuse. I bought it because I just wnted it. ;'P
I have a digital camera already, but I had long wanted a camera which has higher performance in a function of moving picture.
The main reason why I decided to buy this was because of it's size.
The camera is about the size of a mobile phone, and weigh is only 142g.
You can take moving picture for up to 8hours. Needless to say, you can take still photos too.
It takes 3 seconds until the camera boots up, so you'll be able to take pictures without missing an oppotunity.
And also the price was reasonable. :)))
Anyway I have to go on a trip to take nice movies!



頑張ったご褒美に自分で自分にこのデジタルムービーカメラを買いました。　えっと、ごめん、それはただのいい訳で、ただ欲しかったから買いました。ヾ(*・ω・*)
既にデジカメは持っていましたが、ビデオ機能の充実したものがずっと欲しかったんです。
このカメラに決めた最大の理由は大きさです。

静止画がとれるのは言うまでもあいません。

To be frank, I don’t like this kind of novel. I prefer mystery or historiography.
But one of my English instructors gave me this book “Emma”.
He said, “Yeah…it’s a kind of historical novel…haha”.
Even though I am an idiot, I know her work belongs to which genre.
Anyway, I started to read it.

I ‘ve read only a few chapter, but I don’t like this heroine so far.
I thought she is a meddlesome.
She tried to separate her friend Harriet from a farmer guy.
Because he is not real gentleman, he is a yeoman.
She says his social class differs from ours.
I wondered Emma’s behavior.

My instructor’s word was not a lie in a way.
I can learn a class-based society and consciousness in England at that time from this novel.
I’m not sure whether I become like Emma or not after this.
But I’ll read the rest of this story anyhow.


Jane Austenの名前くらいは知っていた。
でも彼女の作品を今までに読んだことはなかった。
正直いってこの手の小説は苦手だ。
どちらかというと推理小説や歴史ものが好きだ。
でも、英語の先生のひとりが"Emma"という本をくれた。
彼がいうには「あ～まぁ、歴史小説だよ。はは。」
いくら私が無知でも彼女の小説がどのジャンルに属するかくらいは知っている。
でも、まぁ読んでみることにした。

まだいくつかの章を読んだだけだけど、今のところこのヒロインを好きになれない。彼女はお節介だと思った。
彼女は友達のハリエットを農家の青年から引き離そうとする。
なぜなら、かれは紳士階級ではなくて、その下の階級のヨーマンだからだ。
「私たちとは身分が違う」というのだ。
エマの行動にはおどろいた。

英語の先生の言葉はある意味、うそではなかった。
当時のイギリスにおける身分社会と意識をこの小説から学ぶことができた。
この先、エマのことを好きになれるかどうか定かではないが、とりあえず続きを読んでみようと思う。

Somehow I feel very fine today.

Unfortunately, to all appearances, I can't be university student. So my role was an assistant professor. haha.
Anyway, I walk into the campus for the first time in a long-long-long time.
Some school building were rebuilt and looked much nicer. However I could see the scenes haven't changed too. It reminds me of my school days. Actually, this university is not my old-school, but my ex-boyfriend was a student at this uni. So I sometimes sneaked into there and took lessons.

I looked a lot of student today. They motivated me to study!
Well, let's study!!!(^_^)/

今日は、前の英語の講師に本を返しにでかけた。
天気がよかったので、私たちは近くの大学まで散歩して大学に潜入してみることにした。
残念ながら、どうやっても私は大学生に見えないから、準教授という設定で。haha

いくつかの校舎は建て替えられきれいになっていましたが、変わらぬ景色もみることができました。懐かしかった。

I am not methodical person and I don't have a mania for cleanliness.
However, I have an odd habit to stick at trifles.
That is " How to arrange books".
I sometimes feel an irresistible implse to arrange books on my bookshelves neatly. Not to mention of the number of volumes, I want to arrange books in perfect order as much as I can do.

I arrenged books according to their contents and rearrenged them according to size......
Mmmm....not satisfied.
Yeah, it's a matter of no significance, I know.

What kind of order do you arrange your books?

*By the way, can I call like this person "stickler"? I didn't know how should I call about this person in English.


私は几帳面な人間ではないし、きれい好きというわけでもない。
でも、変なとこにこだわる癖がある。
それは、『本の並べ方』です。
時々、本棚の本を整然と並べたいという強い衝動に駆られます。
本の巻数は言うまでもなく、できるかぎり整然とさせたいのです。

本の内容ごとに並べたり、大きさごとに並べ替えてみたり....。うう～ん....いまいち。
わかってるんだ。こんなのどうでもいいことだって。

皆さんは、何順に本を並べている？

＊ところで、『こだわりやの人』のことを"stickler"と呼ぶことはできる？　こういう人を英語で何というのか分かりませんでした。

Well...I'll be moving to a small town in Europe.
Nobody knows me in there......
I can be myself in there.....
I'll live hearing the sound of the breeze while calmly drinking a cup of coffee on the terrace of lakeside house.
Oops! Sorry. It's a just my wish.

In truth, I'll be moving from present noisy house to new quiet house.
I'll move just 300m though.XD.XD.

Anyway, I've been tired of packing for moving. XP
I want to get myself into the box until it's finished.

Actually I left an English conversation school at the end of July.
I'm a lazy student. I apt to depend on others. So I decided I' d take one-to-one lessons.
I rested my brain all last month (ah....a half of my brain still taking a rest though. ;-P)and I took a trial lesson today.
Instructor suggests some contents of the lesson, but the decision is mine!
I thought that having no person to depend on is tough.
However, it has advantages too. I can ask about my questions without reserve to other students.
I'll take one-to-one lessons for the time being.
I wonder if it will turn out well, but I'm sure it'll be a very good experience for me. ;')))))

実は７月末に英会話スクールを辞めました。
私はダメダメな生徒で、すぐ他人に頼ってしまいがち
なので、マンツーマンレッスンを受けようと思ったんです。
８月いっぱいは、脳みそを休ませて（あっ、今もまだ
半分はお休み中ですけど><;;）今日、お試しレッスン
を受けてきました。
講師は授業のすすめ方をいくつか提案してくれますが、
決めるのは私です。
頼る人がいないのって、結構大変だなぁって思いました。
でも、利点もあります。他の生徒さんに気兼ねすること
なく質問することができます。
しばらくは、マンツーマンレッスンを受けてみるつもり
です。ちゃんとやれるかわからないけど、きっといい
経験になると思います。(^_^)/

All of English instructors who I've ever met are nice persons....ah...except one.;-))).haha. They are not only competent but also kind.

One of my sweet instructors sent a file to me yesterday. It's about a how to diet. It will be a helpful to me. He also gave me some useful advices.

Eh!? Wait, wait....., now I realized!
That is..., I'm an obesity as much as he can't overlook(*neglect?) !!!
OMG～!!!
It's a serious problem, isn't it?
I'll buckle down to diet!

I went to Ikebukuro to borrow some books from my ex-English instructor. I asked him for advice about Western book, then he stopped in Ikebukuro on his way to work and lend me these books【left photo】. Of course, rental fee is nothing. He is a really good person!

Ikebukuro is a downtown in Tokyo within 10min by train from my station. There are huge book shops, department stores and many many shops. You can get anything you need in there.

After I took books, I thought to do window-shop. Yeah..... I was to do JUST a WINDOW-SHOP, but I bought these things【right photo:bag, CD, lunch-box】after all. I also had a cup of coffe at the tasteful café. ;')))))

I didn't have to buy books, but I bought some things that it's not essential. I spent over 10000yen. XP.XP

Ikebukuro is a danger zone for me. :'P

前の英語の先生から本を借りるために池袋へ行きました。
洋書について相談したところ、仕事に行く途中立ち寄って
これらの本【写真、左】をかしてくれました。
もちろんレンタル料はタダです。本当に親切な人です！

池袋は東京の繁華街で、私の地元の駅からは電車で１０分です。
大きな本屋や、デパート、それにたくさんのお店があります。
必要なものは何でも買うことができます。

本を受け取ったあと、ウインドーショッピングを楽しもうと思い
ました。ええ、そうただウインドーショッピングをするつもりでした。
でも結局これらの品々【写真、右：バック、ＣＤ、お弁当箱】を
買ってしまいました。ついでに洒落たカフェでお茶もしました。

本は買わずにすみました。でも絶対必要でもないものを
買ってしまいました。１万円以上は使いました。

池袋は危険な場所です。

I was amazed that they have a remarkable musical talent!
Come to think of it, one of them always sang a song in his lessons, and another's speaking is rhythmic.
Anyway, their performance was terrific! I also could see English instructors who I haven't seen recently. I had a wonderful time.　;-D

Ah...As my friends know, I can get merry with a sip of beer, because I'm a good fuel-efficient person. So I hope I was never rude in there. XD

By the way, when I am moved, I often say these words, " awesome", " cool", " amazing". These words are said too much. Do you know other good expressions? Please, tell me.

以前の英語の先生のライブがあったので、ブリティッシュ・パブ
に行ってきました。（ところで、ブリティッシュ・パブと普通の
パブと何が違うのかよくわからないんですけど。）

彼らが素晴らしい音楽的才能をもっていたことに驚きました！
考えてみれば、一人の先生はいつもレッスン中に歌っていたし、
もう一人の先生は話し方がリズミカルだ。
とにかく、彼らのパフォーマンスは素晴らしかった！
それに、しばらく会っていなかった先生にも会えたしね。
とても楽しい時間をすごせました。

あぁ...友達のみなさんはご存知のように、私はビール一口で
ハイになれます。燃費がいいもんで。(^_^;;)
みんなに失礼な態度をとっていなかったことを祈ります。

ところで、感動したとき私はこれらの言葉を使います。
『awesome』、『cool』、『amazing』。でも、ちょっと使いすぎてる。
何か、ほかにいい表現があったら教えてください。

Don't take what I say as boastful, but I was a kind of honor student. I ranked high at school. I was also chosen as valedictorian for the graduation ceremony. I didn't even talk back to my parent at that time.
Whenever he looked such me, he said to me, "You should assert your opinion more. Show more of your trueself."
One day I retorted to him, "What's wrong with being good student!"
He grinned and said, " I finally looked your angry face."

Yeah, I owe what I am now to him. Of course, not only him. All of the people I met are influence on me.

Anyway, I wanna say to him, "Thank you very much."


恩師の通夜に行ってきました。　彼は中学時代の国語の先生でした。　とても厳しくて、ぱっと見、人相の悪い先生でした。でも、彼は優しい目をしていて、とても理解のある人でした。

自分でいうのもなんですが、私は優等生でした。成績もトップクラスだったし、総代にも選ばれました。その頃は、親に口答えもしていませんでした。
そんな私を見るたび先生は、
「もっと自分の意見をいいなさい。本当の自分をだしなさい。」
と言ってきました。
ある日、私は彼に言い返しました。
「いい生徒でいることの何がいけないの!?」
彼はニヤリと笑っていいました。
「やっと、怒った顔をみせたな。」

今の私があるのは彼のおかげです。もちろん、彼だけでなく、今までに出会った全ての人の影響を受けて今の私がいます。

Last night, I went to the kitchen while I was talking with my cellphone. After I hung up the phone, I put it on the ledge in the side of the sink. Then, I dropped it in the water in this morning!!! OMG~
I picked up it immediately......but, it's FINISHED!

Now I got a new one. Yeah.....I could give up losing money for my new cellphone, but I can't give up losing my data! Photos, my friend's phone-numbers, addresses.....Awwww, my memories!!!!!
I didn't back up the data. What a fool I am!!! Fool, fool, I am fool.
I wanna contact with my friends and I wanna ask them to tell their phone-number or e-mail address. But I can't. Because I don't know how I can reach them. :'(((((
I feel like crying.

I was really busy with my work and I didn't have the energy to see a PC-screen at home. I'm sorry.

Anyway, I've got back to normal life and I've got time on my side. So I started to grapple with the DIET!! It has been only 3days though....XP
I take a step to the upbeat music for an hour.
(Today's music was Sean Paul's. Actually, I can't catch half the lyrics. Also, I can't dance as well as they do.)
I have a muscle pain today. It's a good sign, isn't it?
I might be able to show you my figure in a swimsuit someday!

恋しかった！

ご無沙汰しまして申し訳ございません。
あぁ...この２ヶ月の間に、多くの英単語と何人かの
lang-8フレンドを失ってしまったようです。m(・ω・｀)m
仕事で忙しくて、家でパソコンのスクリーンを見る気力が
なかったんです。ごめんなさい。

現在、通常の生活に戻り、時間もできたので、ダイエット
に取り組みはじめました。まだ３日だけですけど。
ノリノリビートに合わせて1時間、ステップを踏んでます。
（今日の曲はショーン・ポール。歌詞は半分しか聞き取れ
ないし、ダンサー達のようには踊れませんけどね。）
今日、筋肉痛になりました。これって、いい兆候じゃない？
いつの日か、皆さんに水着姿を見せれるかも！
あ？誰もそんなもん見たくないって！？hahaha (^_~)

Actually, I have a TOEIC at the end of this month. So I was full of drive and I was thinking : "I'll study harder in this month than usual for TOEIC."
But the sudden laborious work shattered my plans.
When I come home from work, I'm entirely exhausted mentally and physically. This situation lasts 1month at least. (-ω-;)
I know I shouldn't whine because I decided to take part in a project by myself.
Of course I intend to complete this project, come what may. I'll also juggle my time somehow and study English.
So...I hope you help me to improve my English. Can I ask you a favor?

That's why the women's magazines feature articles on marriage at this time of year.
I recently read a magazine article about "something four".
According to the article, If a bride wears "something four", she'll be happier. It's "something old" "something new" "something blue" "something borrowed". It stands for tradition, prosperity, faithfulness and friendship.

I have a party next week. It's not my wedding ceremony. It's a just my birthday's, but I'll try to wear "something four" for my happiness.;-)))))
*Something old....I'll wear the ring which my grandma gave me.
*Something new...I'll wear new mules.
*Something blue...I'll wear a blue shirt.
*Something borrowed........Mmmm......
...........Hey! Can you lend me some money? =P hehe

６月の花嫁は幸せになると言われています。

というわけで、この時期の婦人誌には結婚特集がくまれます。
最近、『Something Four』についての記事を読みました。
記事によると花嫁は4つのものを身に着ければ、さらに幸せになります。

これらは『伝統』『繁栄』『貞節』『友情』を表します。

来週、パーティーがあります。
それは私の誕生日で、私の結婚式ではありませんが、

英語の辞書や参考書を読んでいると、ときどきおかしな例文をみつけます。

¿Por qué redactor escogió las tales frases del ejemplo ?
なぜ、編集者はこの例文を選んだのか？

¿Acaso quién usaría tal una frase?
いったい誰が使うのか？

También encontré que el ejemplo tonto sentencia en mis libros de texto españoles.
スペイン語のテキストにもおかしな例文をみつけました。

Por ejemplo....
例えば....

*¡Quítate la cazadora!　¡Ni hablar. No me da la gana!　　
*「ジャンバーを脱げ！」「いやだね！脱ぎたくないね！」

激痛を感じ、危うく気を失うところでした。鼻と頬を切りました。

One of my relative is a flower arrangement instructor.
Last week her business partners were absent. So I helped her class as an assistant...ah..no, no, as a charge of doing the chores. =P
I have a licence of Japanese flower arrangement, but this was the first time I did a western-style flower arrangement. So I enjoyed it very much.
We went to the wholesale market and bought many flowers I could hardly hold them in my arms. After that, we made a move to a classroom.
I set of tables and chairs, divided flowers into the number of students, prepared water or tools. And then, I sat down at the reception desk.
"Rioka? What are you doing here?" One of pupils asked me.
I lifted my face. And there was a familiar face. She was a classmate of English conversation class.
"Oh! Hi. Ah...I helped her job temporarily". I pointed to my relative and said.
"Do you know her?" She asked me, so I answered.: "She is a relative of mine".
Then she was amazed and said.: "What? Really? I'm a relative of her too!"
"Eh?"

We didn't know that we are distant relative by then.
It's a small world!!!
Perhaps you are a very very distant relative of mine. ;-)))))

親戚の一人はフラワーアレンジメントの先生です。
先週、彼女のビジネスパートナーがお休みだったため、彼女の
教室をアシスタント...あっいや、雑用係りとして手伝いました。(^.^)
生け花の免状は持ってますが、フラワーアレンジメントは初めての
体験だったので、楽しかったです。
生花市場に行って、抱えきれないくらいの花を購入し、教室へ向かい
ました。私は、テーブルと椅子をセットし、花を人数分に分け水や道具
を用意し、それから受付に座りました。
「Riokaさん？　ここで何してるの？」生徒さんの一人が声をかけて
きました。顔を上げると見慣れた顔がそこにありました。彼女は
英会話教室の仲間でした。
「おお！こんにちは。あ...臨時で彼女を手伝ってるの。」私は親戚を
指差して言いました。
「彼女のこと知ってるの？」
「親戚なの」
彼女は驚いて言いました。「えっ、マジ？私も親戚なんだけど。」
「へっ？」

私たちは遠い親戚であることをその時まで知りませんでした。
世間はせまいですね。
ひょっとすると、あなたと私も遠い遠い親戚かもね♪
