My husband is looking for a job. He's taking an job interview at three o'clock in the afternoon. It is held in Tokyo, then he left here two hour ago. It takes more than 3 hours from our town to there. After he finish the interview, he'll come back to Kyoto and he has to go another place. He has to attend his friend's funeral wake.
Yesterday, he received the sad news of his death. He died during his work. He's bringing a black necktie for his friend. (In Japan, men attend a funeral with black suit and tie.)
He must be tired when he come home...

Ohh your english is pretty good. But what is 'funeral wake'?

Dear ソエ,
thank you for correcting my diary.
I'm sorry I don't know exactly funeral wake oversea...We hold a ceremony night before a funeral. We call it 'お通夜'. When I looked it up in the dictionary, they said "お通夜 as funeral wake'

  • He died during his work.
  • His friend died during his while working. (If you want to sound more subtle about this, you can also say, "He passed away while working." as some people are sensitive to the word "died" when talking about someone they loved.)

  • He must be tired when he come home...
  • He must may be tired when he comes home... ("Must" is usually used directly; it sounds unusual in this case. So when he comes home, you can say to him, "You must be tired." and that is perfect. How you are using it here, you could also say, "He will be tired when he comes home.")

Good job!

I am very sorry to hear about your husband's friend. Death is never an easy thing for friends. He has a good wife to come home to, though, so he is lucky.

Thank you for the corrections on my journal!

  • My Husband's Long Day (I over-looked this one thing, sorry. Husband is not a special-case word, so it has to be capitalized in the title.)
