ぐラウンドホッグデー

みなさん、こんにちは！
２月２日にはグラウンドホッグデーでした。日本で、グラウンドホッグデーを知っていますか？
（February 2nd was groundhog day．Do you know Groundhog Day in Japan?)
主意はちょっとおかしいですけど。。。グラウンドホッグ（ジリス）が朝で家を出る時には晴れだったら、冬は長いです。
（The main idea is a little strange． If it is sunny when the groundhog leaves his home， winter will be long.)
でも、曇り空だったら、冬は早く終わります。
（But if it is cloudy, winter will end soon.)
カナダに、たくさん人は知っていますが、無視します。
（In Canada, most people know it but ignore it.)
私はグラウンドホッグデーが好きです。
（I like Groundhog Day.)
カナダの冬は長くて寒いですから。
（Canada has long and cold winters).
それから、冬の終わる日を知っていれば、もう優しくなります。
（So, if you know when winter will end， it becomes a little easier.)
その上、グラウンドホッグが可愛いと思います。
（Furthermore, I think Groundhogs are cute.)
このものは未来を見ることができれば、面白いと思います。
(If something like that can see the future, I think it's interesting.)
時々小さい奇術を信じるはいいですね。
(Sometimes, believing in a little magic is a good thing.)

カナダには、たくさん人は知っている人がいますが、無視します。or気にしません、関心を持ちません、等でも良いと思います。
それから、冬の終わる日を知っていれば、もう優しくなります。少し過ごしやすくなります。
このものは未来を見ることができれば、面白いと思います。
時々小さい奇術を信じるのはいいですね。
I saw news that many people went to Pennsylvania to see one Groundhog in the U.S!!! It's funny.

グラウンドホッグ（ジリス）が朝で家巣を出る時には晴れだっていたら、冬は長いです。(In Japan, we call animal's home as "巣", on the other hand, we call humen's house as "家".)
それから、冬の終わる日を知っていれば、もう優しく（冬を越すのも）少しは楽になります。
その上、私はグラウンドホッグが可愛いと思います。
時々小さい奇術魔法を信じるはことも、時にはいいですね。
Is is a kind of fortune-telling using groundhogs?
このように未来を知ることができるものがあれば、面白いと思います。
面白いお話しですよね。
日本には「啓蟄（けいちつ）」(3月6日頃)というのがあります。
この日に冬眠していた虫などが穴から出てくると言われています。
でも出てくるときの天気は関係なくて、残念ながら未来を知ることはできません (^_^)
I think that the Pennsylvania groundhog is the most famous one. :^) If you think it is cute, you should watch the movie "Groundhog Day." It's an old movie but cute and funny.

Yes, you're right. It sounds a little funny when you say "fortune telling." :^) But, it can only be used to predict the coming of spring.
