May 12, 2010 01:08 speech anxious help courage
Recently the school is going to held a speech contest and now it is recruiting the competitors.

I am very interested in that because I think it is good chance to test my English speaking ability and it will make me get more excited and energetic if I can win the prize.

However, lots of bad thoughts come to my mind such as I am too afraid to complete the basic sentences or I do not know how to develop the speech topic. The audience will show the "oh, come on" face to me. The judge just will lower their head and sigh.

I want to have a try but a butterflies in my stomach make me feel really anxious.

Besides, I just read the article related to my feeling. It's "Anxiety: Challenge by Another Name" by James Lincoln Collier. There is a moral hits my heart :"Anxiety always arises when we confront the possibility of our own development."

Oh, I know that deeply now but it's hard to eliminate that anxiety.

Hope some one can give me the courage.
