Hi, all teachers. Nice day to make a journal.
Actually, this journal is about my confusing again.
The more I study the more confusing I get...
I really need all friends' help...
For today, I have 2 questions...

1) The informal form for the word "가다" is "가요". But, i have read a sentence which used "가거".
What are the differences between these 2 forms??
2) I have just found out that there are 2 words to represent "study". There is "공부하다" and "배우다".
I don't really know in what situation we can use these words. Can anybody explain it to me with some examples??

I wanna say thanks before...
Your help will decrease my confusing...
I think the next confusing will come soon though..
But, i'm sure that there'll be questions as long as someone keep studying...

A sentence can't be end with 가거, at least in standard Korean. It might be 가거라, an imperative form of 가다, which is usually said by old people.
2)
배우다 is more general term than 공부하다. You can use 공부하다 when you speaking of studying foreign languages, mathematics, physics, history, or such. 공부하다 is chiefly related with something likely to be taught in school.
배우다 can replace 공부하다 in almost every sentence. 배우다 can be used to describe learning driving skills, surgery or swimming. It also means to be taught(trained) something by someone(~에게 ~를 배우다).

가다 is "to go"

가 is a root and used with many word at the end.

For example,
가+요=가요.
가+ㅂ니다=갑니다.

가+거라=가거라
가+시오= 가시오

I go to school at 8 O'clock in the morning. (나는 아침 8시에 학교에 가요)

배우다 = learn
공부하다 = study

These are two different words same as English.
Lem, what are you talking about? haha...

공부하다 ≠ to study

correct: I learned that he had been sick.
wrong: 나는 그가 아프다는 것을 배웠다.
correct: He studied her face thoughtfully.
wrong: 그는 생각에 잠긴 채 그녀의 얼굴을 공부했다.

But yes, I agree that “배우다” and “to learn” are highly related as well as “공부하다” and “to study”.

desultory note about nuance:
“지금 뭐하니?”
more appropriate: “영어 공부 중이야.”
rather inappropriate: “영어 배우는 중이야”
If the question is “요즘 뭐하고 있니?”, both the two answers are appropriate.

I already master the writing system and also its pronunciation, but I think it is a little bit difficult to master the sentence structure and grammar.

Could you please give me a recommendation for books and websites that are good to learn Korean?
