What events make a person an adult?

People recognize a difference between children and adults. What events (experiences or ceremonies) make a person an adult?
My essay:
Some countries regard people who are older than 18 as adult, some countries regard people who are older than 20 as adult. The question is what events make a person an adult? I think there are 3 events make a child grow up to an adult.
First, the experiences. If a person is under 18 years old, s/he don't have enough experiences to handle the troubles that an adult should face. Only adults can watch adult videos because they know what sex is but teenagers might hurt themselves by imitate it. And only adults can play the games in the level of AO, the games might be include violence that may be make teenagers uncomfortable, and adult won't imitate the violence yet the teenagers might do. If a person don't have enough experiences s/he can't handle the adult videos and the violence games.
Second, the knowledges. An adult can read books while most children cannot. Yes there are some children can read books but not all of them can understand the books, as well as not all the children can read books yet all the adults can. Furthermore, adults can do complicated math which important in the daily lives. An adult must know if a staff is $23 and s/he gives the cashier $50 how much the cashier should give back to s/he, and 6 eggs are $5 how much s/he will cost on 42 eggs. Every adult can work out the consequence while not all children can do the same thing. Knowledges maks adult and chilren different.
Finailly, the skills. Adults have skills to work to make money for themselves. But most teenagers don't have enough skills to feed themselves.
These three events make adults have abilities to work and live in these world. And adults can use the abilities to make world better and better.

I think there are 3 events which make a child grow into adulthood.
First is experience.
If a person is under 18 years old, they do not have enough experiences to handle the troubles as an adult would.
For example, only adults can watch adult videos because they know what sex is, while teenagers might hurt themselves imitating their actions.
Another example is online gaming. Only adults can play the games in the level of AO, which might be include violence that may be make teenagers uncomfortable. Additionally, adults will not imitate the content in the game, but the teenagers might do.
If someone does not have enough experience, then s/he cannot handle the adult videos and the violence in games.
Second is knowledge.
Yes, there are some children who can read books, but not all of them can understand their content.as well as not all the children can read books yet all the adults can.
Furthermore, adults can use complicated math equations which is important in their daily lives.

Every adult can work out the solution, while not all children are able to do so.
Knowledge is what makes adult and chilren different from one another.
Finally is skill.
Adults have skills to work in order to make money for themselves.
But most teenagers do not.
These three things make adults have abilities to work and live in this world.
Also, adults can use these abilities to make the world better and better. (Knowledge and experience are not abilities.)
