ギリシャの記事 An article about Greece demo
I tried to read an English article to increase vocabularies.
語彙を増やそうと思い英語の記事を読んでみました。
Here is the link to the website:http://news.yahoo.com/strike-shuts-down-greece-austerity-vote-061556092.html

It first reads that (""is copied so no need to be corrected) "Angry protesters vowed to Greece to a standstill on the second day of the general strike while disgruntled lawmakers vote on the details of a deeply unpopular austerity package, needed to save off bankruptcy."
最初こう書いてます「怒った反抗者たちはストの2日目、ギリシャを足止めすることを誓った。その一方で困惑のさなかにある法案作成者たちがギリシャの破たんを阻止するためには必要なまったく人気のない景気を悪くする法案に投票しようとしています。」
The number of protesters raised over 100k. The movement apparently affect the vote. However, in an internationally consideration of the request from EU or IMF, such sever conditions/measurements must be passed. I thought the article read such a story.
ストの数は10万人を超えました。この動きはおそらく投票に影響している。ただし、EUやIMFからの要求という国際的要求を考慮すると、そういう厳しい条件/法案は通らざるを得ない。こういう内容だったと思います。
New words for my vocabularies. Please select little used words If you can. Ah, meanings are typed by myself from Longman web.

I tried to read an English article to increase my vocabulary.
It first says that (""is copied so no need to be corrected) "Angry protesters vowed to Greece to a standstill on the second day of the general strike while disgruntled lawmakers vote on the details of a deeply unpopular austerity package, needed to save off bankruptcy."
The number of protesters was over 100k.
The movement apparently affected the vote.
However, in an internationally consideration of the request from EU or IMF, such severe conditions/measurements must be passed.
New words for my vocabulary.
Please select rarely used words if you can.
Thank you for your corrections.!
The number of protesters has risen to over 100k.("raised" is used when someone actively does something to increase something [turn a knob to raise the volume, raise taxes, etc], while "rise" is for something that increases on its own, like the population, amount of participants, etc)
However, in an internationally consideration of the request from EU or IMF, such severe conditions/measurements must be passed.
I thought the article conveyed such a story.
Please select little used words if you can. ("little used" sounds good to me)
By the way, I have the copied the meanings by myself from the Longman website.
beleaguered: experiencing a lot of problems or criticism(I haven't heard this word before, but it might just be my lack of knowledge ^^; All the other words are fairly common, though)
Thank you I noticed them.
By the way, I don't know why but I have often listened to "to raise".
"Angry protesters vowed to bring Greece to a standstill on the second day of the general strike while disgruntled lawmakers vote on the details of a deeply unpopular austerity package, needed to stave off bankruptcy."
unabated: continuing without becoming any weaker
The situation in Greece is pretty bad. ._.
BUT ... you could also say, "An article about the protests in Greece"
なるほどデモは映画とかの前振りを意味するんですね
