"coiled and crimped and curled their hair"ってところが難しかったです。グーグル画像検索の力を借りて理解するところまでは行ったものの、それを表す日本語がない。（笑）

ちなみにこの本の挿絵では、巨大鳥の巣が頭に乗っかってるみたいな感じに描かれてます。（笑）

パンプローナっていうのは、スペインのフランス国境付近にあったナバーラ王国の首都で、今もそこはナバーラ自治州ということになってるそうです。バスク語を話すバスク地方の一部です。（かといって全体がバスク語圏なわけじゃないんですけど…ややこしや）
英語のPampelune, Navarreは、フランス語由来で、日本語のパンプローナ、ナバーラはスペイン語の読みから来ているので、ちょっと合わないかんじがするのはそのせいです。
