Missing the Ocean / 바다가 그립다.

제가 살고 있는 이링가라는 도시는 고산지역이에요.
The city where I live is a highland called Iringa.
제일 가까운 바다는 탄자니아 경제 수도 다에르살람에 가면 볼 수 있어요.
The nearest sea I can see is in Dar es salaam, the economical capital city of Tanzania.
다에르살람은 이링가에서 버스로 9시간에서 10시간 정도 걸려요.
It take about 9 or 10 hours by bus from Iringa to Dar es salaam.
500 킬로미터 정도 밖에 안되는 거리지만 도로 사정이 좋지 않고 버스도 후져서 그래요.
The actual distance is only about 500 km but the road condition and the buses are not good so that it takes that much of time.
저는 강이나 바다, 호수 같은걸 좋아해요.
I like rivers, sea or lakes.
한국은 워낙 작기도 하지만 한국에 있는 우리 집에서 바다까지는 1시간도 안걸렸어요.
Korea is quite small country and my Korean home was only about 1 hour away from the sea.
처음에 이링가에 왔을 때 왠지 산꼭대기에 갇히는 것 같다는 생각을 했어요. 바다로 가려면 9시간이나 가야 하니까요.
I felt like kept on top of a very high mountain when I first came to Iringa because I thought the sea was like 9 hours away from me.
다에르살람에서 보이는 바다는 인도양이에요.
The ocean that I see from Dar es salaam is the Indian ocean.
다에르살람은 너무 덥기도 하고 해안이 조금 더러워서 그곳에서 보이는 인도양이 그렇게 아름답지는 않아요.
It is very humid and hot in Dar and the coast is so polluted that the Indian ocean is not really beautiful from there.
그렇지만 오늘은 그거라도 보고 싶네요.
Nevertheless, I miss it today.
