I wrote in my former entry that Japanese summer is hot.
But I think I should correct it only this summer.
Actually, it was hot in early July.
But cool days continue from when the typhoon No.6 came.
Maximum temperature doesn't go up until 30 degrees.
The temperature goes down around 20 degrees at night.
I welcome it, because our house doesn't have the air conditioner.
But, if it continues as it is, I can't feel the summer.
I think a bit hot summer is best.
Is it selfish?

I don't think it's selfish to like summers to be hot. Personally I prefer the weather to be cold since I burn easily and that weather is what I am used to. I hope my corrections helped you! =}

Why do I need to use the plural form 'summers'?

You need the plural since you are talking in general that you like the season of summer to be hot. This would make a reader infer (or think) that you are talking about all summers, rather than just one summer to be hot.

I don't know. I would disagree and say that you could use the singular. As in: "I think the best kind of summer is a hot summer". So I would consider her "I think a hot summer is best" to be perfectly correct as it still infers a generic summer.
