The city where I'm living in is Sagamihara city.
It is located about 30 kilometers (20 miles) west of central Tokyo.
Sagamihara is a big city similar to Yokohama and Kawasaki.
My home is in the mountains about 20 kilometers west from the center of the city.
The climate doesn't have a big difference with Tokyo.
But it is surrounded with mountains, therefore it is a bit cooler in summer.
Instead, in winter it is colder than Tokyo.
There are no famous places, and no historic places in my neighborhood.
We don't have any features except free water and that we can see wild monkeys. XD
Although such a place, I would like to explain a bit my neighborhood.
There is a Lake Sagami which lies beyond the southern mountain from my home.
It is a first artificial lake made after Second World War.
It is used as drinking water of downstream city, such as Yokohama and Kawasaki.
It has also an electric generation plant.
A rowing match was taken place at the Tokyo Olympics in 1964.
There are many people on the lake who enjoy fishing.
To be continued.

May I ask you a question?
> But it is surrounded by mountains, therefore it is a bit cooler in summer.
Can't I use "surrounded with"?
If I could use it, in what sentences?
The army surrounded the town with 100 soldiers
Do you have any onsens? ... where monkeys like to swim?)))))
as for me I have never seen any wild animals near my city...
I hate them because they eat agricultural crops.
Are they too much there?
It's very interesting... I was always thinking that monkeys was afraid of people.... and didn't come to their houses....

Note: ()can be omitted
OR: My home is in the mountains about 20 kilometers west of the city centre.
The climate isn't that different from Tokyo but
as/because it is surrounded by mountains, it is a bit cooler in summer and colder in winter (than Tokyo).

There are no famous places, and no historic places in my neighborhood/area. OR: Where I live, there are no famous or historic places.
We don't have any special features except for free water and the fact that we can see wild monkeys.
Even though it's that sort/kind of a place, I would like to explain a bit about my neighborhood. OR: Even though it's that sort/kind of a place, I would like to explain a bit about where I live.
There is a Lake Sagami, which lies over the mountain south of my home.
It was the first artificial lake to be made after Second World War.
It supplies the drinking water for the cities downstream such as Yokohama and Kawasaki.
It has also an electric power station.
Is it a hydro-electric power station?
There are many people who enjoy fishing on the lake.
I don't know whether they have rabies or not.
There are some people who own pet monkey.
しんちゃんの町はきれい~
