My friend geve me a Goya yesterday. That's white color and not bitter taste.
I also have Goya plant then it is also already grew up then I can eat. Mine is green color but it is not bitter taste like other's.
If I keep on my regrefrigerator it will change to yellow color and very sweet taste. It sounds like pumpkin.
I like eat both style green color and yellow color.
By the way, the skin rough but when I touched the skin, it is greasy.These looks and feelings differences just fun.

Goya, which I planted this spring, was annihilated by a last typhoon. However, I could harvest it before being attacked by a typhoon and eat it as goya-chample.

It is called by many names including bitter melon in english. I looked up in Wiki and it says Goya is the Okinawan pronounciation and the other Japanese word is Nigauri. Is this correct?

Anyway, enjoy your fruit while it is still summer!! Fruit in summer is so nice.
