My English is still not good, but I want to read a book. I don't know what's nice for me. I mean easy to understand, but don't get bored with it.





私の英語はまだまだ未熟です。しかし私は本を読みたい。簡単だけど、飽きのこない、よい本を知っていますか？

'Of mice and men' by John Steinbeck, very nice, not too big, not too difficult.

"The Giver" by Lois Lowry! It's been a few years since I read that book, but it's still one of my favorites. We had to read it at school in the 7th grade. :-) I also think that the Geronimo Stilton series would be easy to understand. The books aren't that long, but are pretty interesting.

I work in a children's library, and some popular books are "Ivy and Bean" by Annie Barrows, "Mercy Watson" by Kate DiCamillo, and "The Littles" by John Peterson.

If those are too easy, the next level up would be books by Roald Dahl, Lois Lowry, Andrew Clements, and Rick Riordan.

I hated reading when I was young and I was quite weak with English. The one and only book I actually enjoyed reading was Charlotte's Web.

"The Stranger" by Albert Camus is a great book, and it's under 125 pages. Get the translation by Matthew Ward. You could also try reading Hemingway. He is famous for his simple and beautiful writing style.

Oh, Albert Camus is the author-he is French, so his book is translated into English by Matthew Ward. I think the translation by Ward is easier to read than the others.
