I'm not Korean but I can answer your question. 우 (u) sounds similar to boot or good 으 (eu) on the other hand is similar to a weird u. If you listen to Kang Hodong (강호동) say Eun Jiwon's (은지원) name then you'll probably get it. It's quite hard to describe in words. Someone can probably do a better job or even correct me if I'm wrong... but I hope this gives insight :)
