R.I.P Whitney Houston

I'm so shocked when I heard the sad news that Whitney Houston died. I wondered if the news was real or not.
Since I was younger, I've been a BIG fan of her. I've gone to her concerts twice. When I went to her concert first time, my seat was the best seat. I could sit in the front row. So, I could see her very well. When I waved her, she waved back to me while smiling. She was so beautiful. She seemed to be shining.
For a long time I've thought she is one of the best American female singers. Her voice is so clear. She can control her singing voice tones from soft to hard very well. I really love her voice. I love painting while listening to her music.
After she started to be addicted to drugs and became divorce, I think her voice changed a lot. Recently I haven't heard good news about her.
I always have thought although she is very talented, why she hasn't tried to use her talents in the best way. I've thought she should sing more.
It's sad people who are very talented died too young because of drugs. While listening to her music, I'd love to pray for her.

Whitney, will long be remembered for her talent and her beauty.
You should use the past perfect for "had died" however, because she died before you were shocked.
The rule is that you always have to use the past perfect tense for something that happened before something that happened in the past, unless you're talking about a succession of actions, for example: "I heard the news and became shocked" but "I had finished working when I heard the news and became shocked".

I think her life is a good example of the dangers that money and fame can have.
I think most Americans agree that her version of the U.S. National Anthem was the best ever.
