kensa : Japanese Spirit (1)

A couple got married on December.
They are working as ALT at the elementary school .
He's from Oklahoma and she's from California.

They have never flirted in front of us　after even having got married.
I asked her once, "It's okay he and you hold hands and sit next to the partner here."

She replied "Japanese don't like such a thing, do they?"

They surely like Japanese custom and spirit, I thought.
In rare case, but young couple in Japan kiss in the train these days.
We tend to forget Japanese spirit.

I was noticed from her.

kensa : Is this ad true? (1)

They say " the mask is beneficial to the hay fever and the flu".
I have often heard this ad from many media.

Today I don't tell the benefit for two, but want to say the size of pollen.
I watched it on TV program last week.
The MC asked the TV performers, but they couldn't.

Suppose the flu's size is a ping-pong ball, the pollen's size seems 2 meter diameter ball.
We can't look them with naked eyes, but actually we notice the pollen is so big.

After raining,　the pollen is crashed and then the size will become the flu's
size.
So, wearing mask isn't beneficial to the hay fever after raining.

Any way we shouldn't go out when pollen is spreading.

kensa : A Quiz Program　on TV (5)

I watched a quiz program on TV yesterday.
An emcee said , " today the questions are the most difficult".

The last question was to translate a certain word into Japanese.
The word was "friction", but all of participants couldn't answer.

The program like this is broadcast in the recession time, I heard.
In Japan the charge of the general programs is expensive because these are made at the out side.
However, the charge of the quiz program is inexpensive because it is made at the studio, I heard.
And then the quiz show is popular under the recession.

Anyway, I thought the question should've had the context.

What do you think?

kensa : Do you know a hay fever? (2)

Do you know a hay fever?
In Japan it is spreading widely.
Last Friday, it was the most.

I had been tested about the allergy of pollen, and it said I'm allergy to Japanese cedar.

Let me tell you one reason of some.
After the WWⅡ, the national government planned to plant the trees, and then many trees were planted.
I have heard the purpose because all of Japanese will hold a detached house.

However this tree isn't used for building the houses now.
Many woods were imported from foreign countries.

We have to learn the long view of measures from this old policy when we will make a policy.
In other words, we have to plan, watching the future.

The adults over 40 years old receive the physical check-up once a year.
Of course the charge is almost free.
2. The adults reduce the intake of salt volume on meals.
It is within 10 mg per day.

How about you adults?

kensa : This Is My Mistake (3)

Yesterday I watched Youtube.
It said "twenty people were killed and dozen were injured ."

I misheard "twenty people were killed and doesn't injure."

My thought made me confuse.

My mistake came from the following reason.

1. I thought, there was the subject before "doesn't" and it was abbreviated.

2. I visited Rome before.　Then our tour guide said us as follows:
Italy has the nice car.　This small car is named Fiat.(sorry)
That's because you don't get injured if you drive this car.
If the accident happen, the driver dies.
Of course it was a joke using death and injury.

Let me tell you about Saint Valentine's days in Japanese style.
Only women give chocolates to men.
Do you know the reason?

I'm not sure, Japanese women are modesty, so they don't usually confess the love from them.
However on this day it isn't rude for women to say "I love you".

Even my granddaughter, 4 years old, prepared hand made chocolates .
Of course my wife helped her.

What do you think?

kensa : The Merit to Correct (10)

On weekdays, I correct the journal of the acquaintance.
I'll write the merit of correcting it.

1. I can learn the culture of the partner.
2. When I sometimes meet difficult words in Japanese, I confirm it in a dictionary.
As a result I notice the other meaning of words.
3. I sometimes learn unfamiliar words in English from reply comment.

Let me tell you about Beyonce.
First it's a half time show in the Super Bowl.
Her jumpsuit costume was marvelous, it's black and like a leather.
She sang a song, walking on the stage like a fashion model.
I want to say again "she was great ."

Next it's an inauguration ceremony of president Obama.
She sang a song then, too.
However we doubted if she sang a song in real.
We thought she sang with "口ぱく".
I'll explain this Japanese:
Actually she didn't sing a song in real, but she moved her mouth as if she sang a song in real.
