(A) We live on the earth, so needless to say, its environmental changes greatly influence our daily life.
(B) We live on the earth, so needless to say, his environmental changes greatly influence our daily life.

I think (A) sounds natural than (B), because my guess is that using "he" as a substitution for "the earth" is rather old-fashioned.
What do you think?
I'd appreciate your opinions.

I don't think I have ever heard the earth referred to as "he" or "she" in English, even though one speaks of "mother Earth", making "she" the more likely pronoun of the two. The only context in which I can imagine using a pronoun this way is telling a mythical story.

In a mythical context, it is the sky which is male.
