子供たちに、必要以上のお金をあげてはいけない。きっと彼らは有益な目的なしに無駄遣いしてしまうからだ。
(A) You must not give your children more money than is necessary, for they surely waste it for no useful purposes.
(B) You must not give your children more money than they need, for they surely waste it for no useful purposes.
I suppose that (A) is more appropriate than (B) in this context, because I guess that the expression "more money than THEY NEED" in (B) sounds like the children themselves need a certain sum.
Could you tell me what you think about that?

(B) You must not give your children more money than they need, for they will surely waste it for no useful purposes.
I'd say "You shouldn't give your kids too much money, because they'll waste it."
It's less formal, and sounds more modern. I also think should is better than must in this context, because it sounds like you're trying to give advice, not set a rule with an attached punishment.
