Sho : I left my room without keys (2)

Hi.

I did one mistake today.

When I left my apartment, I was thinking about something. And I didn't mention about keys even though I was going out, the door is an auto lock.

When I walked away 10meter from my apartment, I realized that!! Oops!!

I called to my room mate who was in Rosklide. Rosklide is a city taking almost one hour by a train far from my place.

I visited him to get his keys...I spent a lot of time that I didn't expected before I left my room.

Sho : I bought a bicycle. (0)

Hello everyone.

I went to Køge to buy a folding bicycle from someone today. I found the AD on dba.dk which is a famous Danish website. (similar as e-bay?)

The bicycle was 550DKK ( 110USD ) . Price was good however from my apartment to Køge was too far. Also train and bus, cost were total 150DKK( 30USD ). It was not cheap.

However I thought "It is a good opportunity to go to Køge. Otherwise I might not go there anymore.".

It was nice short trip as I imagined. Køge is a very small town but good atmosphere.

By the way, speaking of the herring, I ate several days ago, that seems bad already. I think...

Sho : rotten food (1)

Hi everyone.

I ate a "curry salat : Danish" in this morning. That is a kind of curry taste salad which is good for a Danish style open sandwich. There are many kinds of vegetables and small piece of herring.

But that was left by my room mate few weeks ago. So I wondered if this salad is already rotten, especially herring.

I picked quite small piece of that and ate that.

Taste was good still now.

If I will not write a diary tomorrow, I might be sick.
So far I'm fine. hahaha.

Hello!

I began to study English again here, in Denmark. Today I took a free English lesson in a church. The lesson was quite easy for me however it is good opportunity to use English.I know if I don't use English every day, my English is getting worth and worth.

Also I'm thinking to take a TOEIC or TOEFL or similar English test. I feel it is better to put a goal to study. It drives me very well.

That is not cheap, it takes around $100 to register for each test. I want to utilize that! I don't want to loose money unless I don't get anything.

So that is another reason why it drives me :-)

Sho : Positive thinking. (1)

Hello everyone.

I've been thinking about a job, which I wrote the previous journal, since yesterday.

That position is the not 100% same as what I wanted to do. However, that is not so far.

It might be a good opportunity to learn new things on the job. It might give me a good skill as an industrial designer.

I tend to go an easy way always, maybe this time too. That is not good idea.

But I will not stay in Denmark so long time. Maybe I should choose other company.

Mmmm...what should I do?

Sho : I went to a job interview. (1)

Hi everyone.

I went to a design firm to have a job interview as I wrote previous journal. I talked with the CEO and explained my art works.

I did my best. But I'm wondering about one thing.

The CEO seems to want me to work as a mechanical engineer even though I want to work as an industrial designer. There is a little difference.

I'm not sure either he will hire me or not. But also I'm not sure I want to work even if the position will be a mechanical engineer as he requires.

I met a Japanese guy yesterday.

I got an email from him on Dec threw by a BBS which I own.
He is staying in Copenhagen with working holiday visa too.
Finally we met last night.

I was surprised because according to him, he had had so many troubles since he decided to come to Denmark. At the beginning, an answer from Danish embassy against to his application was delay.

Then, he was about being a victim of apartment fraud (?). Someone put a fake advertisement about an apartment in Copenhagen and he didn't doubt it. He went to a bank to transfer the first rent and deposit then a bank officer didn't allow to send it because that seems fraud.

Oh... what a poor guy.

Hello.
I've been straggling to understand "It" and "That".

I think the meaning of "It" is experience, time, situations, images...
I feel when I use "It", "It" describes some kinds of images. Most of them are invisible.

So I tried to find good web site that is written about "It".
I found too many "IT" as "Information Technology".

I was sooooo disappointed...
It seems long long way.

Seventh heaven.
I like the expression, the sounds.

When I was in Whistler, Canada. I skied on a course which name is Seventh heaven. It was the first time I heard the word even though I was not able to understand what was that mean.

Just I remember because that sounds is so beautiful.
And the course was so beautiful course that was able to make me happy.

Today I checked the meaning of "Cloud nine". During that way, I also knew the meaning of "Seventh heaven".

That is the highest level of heaven according to Jewish tradition.
The highest level of heaven...wow...amasing!

I became to like the word more than before.

I worked diligently today too.（自分で言うなって？）

So far, I have to create many mechanism ideas for a new product. However just only that is what all I have to do.

Generally speaking, when we work on something like that task, everybody tends to focus on small, tiny and silly things. We tend to think as if that is so important.

So I'm trying to keep going to deal with the task from an objective view point strictly. I ask my supervisor many times when he seems not hand full.

I think, having good communication is a good tip for doing a good job. It is easy to say but hard to do.

Happy new year everyone!

I came back from Vancouver, Canada yesterday.
It was so nice trip...
I will write down about this trip later.

And I had a new year party with my friend. It was the first time to have an experience in a countdown in Europe.

When just right after new year comes, so many people started to shoot fire works. It was really amazing! It was like a riot!! So scary...

It was strongly different with Japanese style.
As you know, Japanese traditional new year eve and count down is very quite and calm. We just ring a bell as JOYA NO KANE in a temple.

So this time it became unforgettable experience to me.

Hi everyone.
I cut my hair by myself tonight. I don't know either I can say "I got used to cut by myself." or not. This time I utilize my Web camera and PC monitor to see backside of head.

In the result, it seems OK to me. hahaha.

That is one way to save my expense. That is a kind of D.I.Y.

Sho : I got a Xmas present! (1)

I got a something in this morning which was sent by my friend.
On receiving it, I opened it.

That was many kinds of Japanese foods as お茶漬け、ようかん and おもち.

Hahaha.
The present express as if the present, itself is JAPAN.

By the way...
I was moved by every one's responses of the yesterday's diary entry.
I asked "How can I distinguish TO and FOR".
It is a tough thing to understand.
Still I'm looking into about it. Thanks!!

Sho : Could you give me an advise? (3)

I've written English diary entries for more than 10days.
I really appreciate for everyone who have corrected my mistakes.
Thank you very much.

I picked up many mistakes, except careless miss, today.
I realized that I'm confused "for" with "to" at times.

I picked up typical 2 examples from my diary entries.

Example1.
I wrote:
If that was someone who is very important person FOR you.
Correct example:
If that human was someone very important TO you.

Example2.
I wrote:
This one is very interesting FOR me.
Correct example:
This one is very interesting TO me.

Mmmm....
It is hard to understand an image of FOR and TO for me.(maybe I should write "to me"???)
Could you give me a good advise how to use FOR and TO?

Many people were enjoying ice skating! I want to try it next time!

Sho : Exhausted... but fun! (1)

I joined All Canuck Club, that is a Canadian people community, in a pub tonight.

I met many Canadians included someone who came from Vancouver where I visited. We told about many things of Canada and Denmark.

Of course they are native Canadian so they speak very fast. I mean too fast for me as a not native English speaker. I could understand mostly but not completely.

Maybe you can imagine how hard to follow a conversation between native speakers for a not native speaker. hahaha.

But it was fun! I missed Vancouver now.

Sho : I went to SKAT tax authority office, (1)

I went to SKAT, the Danish tax authority, to make it sure how I should apply my tax card.
My Danish room mate offered to go there together because he assumed I would need his help.

Thanks to my room mate, a SKAT officer seemed understand well what I want to know.

According to her, from Jan 2009, the SKAT system will be change to easier to apply.
(According to her, the SKAT system become easier to apply from Jan 2009. Is this better than the former?)

So I'm very clear now. I don't need to visit SKAT again and even apply my tax card too. Because my employer can access to the SKAT system to apply to paying my tax.
