I had a lesson for free in my travel agency today. We talked about a ranking of gender equality reported by World Economic Forum in 2008 . According to this ranking, Nordic countries accounted for top three, USA was unpredictably 27th, China was 57th and Japan was 98th in 128 countries(I like 128, which is multiplier of 2 :D).

My teacher told us a story about the most shocking thing for him about Japanese society. He asked Japanese women, say, why they didn't want to become presidents of companies. They said spontaneously that was position for man and woman couldn't become. He added, he may well be smashed his nose if he assumed a lady coldnt do jobs and tasks in his country, UK.

it's no wonder foreigners find that character we don't feel something is wrong about why we follow the existing old fashioned rules. That's because this is the out-standing charactor of Japanese - even I have - and I often complain about it. Thus, that story doesn't signify the inequality of gender but rather does conservative habit which remains in Japanese society.

Japan is extremely liberal in some ways and still preserves conservative habits. My country is the very wonderland of culture, has culture of Galapagos Islands.

Thank you, Douglas MacArthur, Shirase Jiro, Matthew C Perry, John Manjiro, people in Meiji Period and all other those who made this island mystic and exciting. This contrast in chaos makes us flexible. This is between us.

It's true, women will get angry in the UK if you imply they are not capable to do the same jobs as men. But, it doesn't means they think of themselves as men.

It's hard to believe it was only in 1928 that women were allowed to vote in general elections here.

But there is still a skew in many industries for pay for women. They are paid less than men for the same job (and they are f**king angry about it).
