Challengers
Last Sunday, I met a founder of Value English, which is English speaking school by Skype, at Nagoya.
We talked about how to improve English skills, especially TOEFL.
Moreover We discussed the situation of Japan's economy.
He said that Japanese entrepreneurs are more tough position than other countries ones.
I agreed to his opinion. Look at Facebook or Twitter. These companies are gained much funds to operate their business. However Japanese good ventures, like Lang-8, are struggled their operation resulted by cash shortage.

Although I can only a little help, I want to support these challengers.
In the future, I want to become a challenger like Value English or Lang-8.

These companies are have gained much funds to operate their businesses. (just to make it plural because you are talking about the two companies)
However, good Japanese ventures like Lang-8, are have struggled with their operations resulted by cash shortage.due to lack of funds. ( "due to lack of funds" means the same thing as what you meant, but it is more of a common phrase)
Although I can only help a little, I want to support these challengers.
Thank you for correcting my journal!
