My son turned two-and-a-half last month.

I have been trying to potty train my son for a while (maybe about two months now) but I haven't been able to do it yet.

It's tougher than I imagined.

Many of my senior mother friends have told me their experiences, and it seems they had an easier time with it than I am.

The first time my son succeeded to pee at his pot was at the end of October, and I was delighted to see his success.

However, on the third day, he suddenly declared he preferred to use diapers and then stopped telling me when he needed to pee.

By observing his attitude, he seemed to realize that to stop using a diaper meant he would be disturbed during his play time, meal time, or whatever he is focusing on.

(Diapers, on the contrary, were free and comfortable for him.)

Although I had been told by many senior mothers that forcing him to go potty is the worst thing to do, I sometimes couldn't help myself from telling him to go to potty.

But he always refused my suggestion quite firmly.

Then on the very last day of 2008, my son suddenly restarted to wear his underpants again and went to his potty to pee spontaneously!

The difference was, however, that he kept on going to his potty even while wearing his diaper.

Even though I feel tired sometimes, I also feel that these last few days have been a precious period in my life.

My son got(has become?) turned 2 years and 6 months old at the end of last month.

Even though I feel tired sometimes, I also feel my recent days are such a precious period of my life.
