I think German people like a ice cream surprisingly.
There are many "ice cafe" which mainly serve ice creams and coffee in the city, and the cafe is always so crowded in spring or summer.
old people, young people, men and wemen.....Everyone eat them!
I heard German ice cream has its roots in Italian ice cream(gelato?) from my colleague.
Actually it is quite delicious and I like it too.

I heard from my colleague that German ice cream has its roots in Italian ice cream, gelato. 「from my colleague」が「has」についたらぜんぜん違う意味になります。「ドイツのアイスの元は同僚からのイタリアンアイスだと聞きました。」(´_`)ゞ
Actually, it is quite delicious, and I like it too. 等位接続詞（and, but, so, or, yet, nor, for)で文をつなぐ時コンマが必要です。
ドイツのアイスはトルコアイスのように粘りはなく、ジェラートと同じ感じです。おいしいですよ。
VinceKさんは日本に住んでいたことがあるんですね。確かに日本の観光地には、いろんな種類のソフトクリームがあります。中には醤油味とかわさび味とか特殊なものもあって、これらは日本人にとっても好みが分かれると思います。私はわさびは好きですが、わさびアイスはちょっと苦手です。。。
