I'm an American software engineer / web developer. I've been studying Japanese on myown for about a year from books, J-pop, J-films, and websites. I would say I'm Beginner-to-Intermediate in skill level. I'm learning Japanese so that I can go to Japan one day to live/work for a while and immerse myself completely, and make friends with it, if that makes sense. I think Japan is a wonderful country even though I haven't been there yet. I love its history and culture and beauty, and want to get to know real Japanese people.
Thanks for reading my journal and correcting my mistakes - right now I'm using it as a way to gauge my progress in my knowledge. As I get better I'll post more often.
(Once I get good enough, I'll attempt to translate this into Japanese.)
